Is the only headphone that allowed me to speak with somebody without reducing volume, everything sounding natural, like listening music in the room. Spatial Audio sounds on this, like on no other headphone. Movies are also a great experience. Still my fav wireless .

I had the Sony MX4 at first & took them back to get the MX5, but after about a week I took them back & for the APM because I love the sound quality & the pairing with all of my Apple devices. I got my wife a pair 2 weeks later for her birthday & she loves them.

I have tried AirPods Max in the Apple brand store and I was pleasantly surprised in terms of comfort, sound quality, noise reduction, etc. It is an excellent product!

I bought mine last year October! Its easily the best headphones for traveling and listening to music and watching movies!

THe Maxes completely disconnecting from my devices is definitely one of the most annoying things about these. Ever. I don't use the included case, I just simply don't, and having to hold the Digital Crown and Noise Control button always brings the possibility to completely reset the device which is not what I intend to do most of the time!

You can hold your palm up to the sony ear cup and it will dim the music and tun on transparency. (XM4 not sure if the XM5 does that.) I appreciate the details tho, didn't realize the mesh earcups would be huge thing.

I was thinking about getting a pair, but there are rumors that new APM are coming out later this fall, and I already have AirPods Pro 1 and they work fine, so I might as well just wait for the upgraded version with type c charging and better chip hopefully

I never had the disconnect problem owning them from day 1 they were available here… But when they are not on my head they are in their case or the travel case.

Just got the Bose Ultra. I also have the Airpods Max. My Airpods Max have connections problem. In the subway it takes like 10 mnts to connect. Apple can't fix them. They also gave me a new pair same problem. Sound is very good.

Great video. One of the early criticisms of spacial audio music was its inconsistent quality. Some music producers were head and shoulders better at mixing and bringing a quality audio surround experience than others. Have you found more music being produced by better producers or is the genre still ignored by musicians?

I have the airpods pro 2 and for headphones have only ever used Beats, which all broke. For my next set of headphones, I plan on waiting for the next gen of these, as I heard they are planning something later this year

I've had mine since Feb 2021. No issues, no failures. I wear them washing my car, riding my bike, and just walking around.

I’ve had mine for a little over 2 years and recently ordered new ear cushions and it made them like new. I didn’t realize how dirty and squished the cushions got although a little expensive at $69 it definitely worth getting if your headphones are over a year old with heavy use.

I got my Max's last year and they have been amazing. I bought them from Walmart for $100 off original price and although they are still pricey i would def do it over again.

I got mine January 2021 at an open box price from Best Buy. They've been great and the build quality makes them feel like they can last for years. I hope apple changes the port to USB C soon though.

At this point, AirPods (not headphones) are the greatest pieces of Bluetooth audio tech ever invented if you have an apple eco-system. You can run, workout, you don’t even know you have them on, they are so easy to put in your pocket, you don’t get fatigue, it is half the price of this headphones, and mine has been still doing good after 3 years. I also have the Sony mx4, and I love them, but at the end of the day, I realize that AirPods are just the greatest

I picked up a pair this week after using the Sony XM2's as my over ear the past 6 years. Sound clarity and bass is not as good, but I love the comfort much more and the Apple ecosystem. On another topic, what Apple Watch Ultra band is that?

I was reconsidering to get these after but the smart case and re-connect after idling 24+ hrs points suggested to hold back. Thanks for pointing out smaller experience details that other reviewers don't cover.

Idk about the Max but the transparency mode on my Pro actually amplifies the outside voice vs just becoming transparent. I can hear more with the earphones in than I can without them. I find it interesting that’s not the case with these much better built headphones.

I’ve had the AirPods Max for a little over a year now, I bought them the night before a ten hour plane ride and they’re honestly a game changer. As a college student they’re a daily necessity, I don’t leave the house without them. Noise cancellation is great I wear them while studying, walking to class, eating lunch, I even started wearing them to the gym and the experience really isn’t that bad. Yes they are expensive but keep your eye out for refurbished pairs. I got mine from Best Buy for about $100 off and that’s still a lot of money but I genuinely have not once regretted the purchase.

Ok, so my take : I’ve had the AirPod Max since august 2021 and I still like them a lot. They are very confortable (even though I’m VERY petite), excellent build quality (mine still look like new), great sound sound really good. BUT… I also got the latest AirPods Pro recently. And I have to say that unfortunately the technology in the AirPods Max is now obsolete. I agree, they still have their qualities, but Spatial Audio and noise cancelling are not up to par compared to the new generation. So, are they still great? Yes, and I still use my Max almost all day, everyday at work (open space office…). But there is NO way they are worth the fulll price now. Although it seems like they’re never going to come, I say wait for the new version. Or try to buy the current version on sale. Just for context, I use the Max’s for listening to music, in the office, or while travelling (planes), while I use the Pro’s when walking, in public transportation, at the gym. So they both have their specific usefulness for me. Can’t wait for the new Max to come out!!!!

Honestly I love mine. There were a couple days when I had to let them dry out because I accidentally splashed water on them and using old school EarPods when my AirPods Pro would die were the biggest pain in the @$$. There’s definitely room for improvement but they’re still fantastic and I missed them terribly while they were out of commission.

I lost my airpods pro 2 so I got the airpods max last week and I am loving it. 😊

I still have mine and I just use them as smoke seshs and going on walks with them.

Thank you for such a wonderful review. I have been dreaming about these headphones since 2020, but the price, then and now, is, to put it mildly, biting. At the moment I am the owner of Bose Quiet Comfort 35 headphones. I won’t say that these are bad headphones, but if the ear pads become unusable due to sweat and it’s not always possible to replace them, you know, it’s annoying. As I understand it, AirPods Max ear pads do not have this problem. The only advantage of the Bose Quiet Comfort 35 headphones is the presence of a wired connection if there is no way to charge. Airpods Max, as far as I know, are deprived of this opportunity because even if they are zero-wired, the wired connection will allow you to listen to music. As for weight, probably after Bose, Airpods Max will be a little heavy, although to be honest, sometimes I got tired of Bose.

I love mine but suddenly after a couple of years they disconnect if I bump them.... they are way better sounding than SONY or BOSE or BEATS I have them all... but I am really annoyed that suddenly they are failing.

I love the sound quality of the APM but imo they’re so heavy and uncomfortable. The Bose QC45’s are such a great choice

Just went into the Apple Store to test the AirPod Max out and I was extremely disappointed. The ANC was awful and nowhere near as good as my AirPod Pros(Gen 2). Build quality is incredible but the fact these are like £500 with WORSE ANC means you should really avoid these unfortunately. Thank god I tried these for myself and not just relied on UKposts reviews! Take my advice and try them for yourself before buying

Anyone else having issues with condensation water inside of it? well i’ve used them in the gym which I don’t recommend AT ALL. One day later i used them for like 30mins and it still kinda formed a bit of condensation on the side. I immediately bought Apple care+ cause I was scared so ig im save now if anything happens right?

Just letting you know, On the XM5 you can rest your palm on the touch pad on the right and it stops the music and turns on transparency until you remove your arm from the track pad.. Another W for XM5 over AirPods Max.

On the Sony you you can cover the right side and it will auto put you in transparency mode and that’s with one hand

I loved the Sony XM4s. And when it was time to Upgrade to the XM5 I was so disappointed, massive head fatigue in an hour, the noise canceling is like 10 steps back. I want the Apples but no power button is a deal breaker for me. So I think my next pair is going to be the Bose. I really hope Sony realizes the mistake they made with the Xm5, but I still have my XM4 as my daily driver and thinking about buying another pair before they aren't in stock anymore as a back up incase mine ever stop working. Noise Canceling is my biggest feature and I worry cause the airpod pros buds claim noise canceling and they are awful and the sony xm5 being so bad its almost like they are trying to punk us.

My nephew has these. I like them but I won’t buy them until Apple puts USBC on them. I have the new Bose Ultras and they’re great as well. They have a better case, USBC, on/off button, and they even come with the 3.5 to 2.5 mm audio cable. Got them on sale at Best Buy.

The connectivity issues are real and infuriating. However, it seems like it’s only an issue after 1-1.5 yrs, and not caused by not using the case. I’ve had 2 pairs of Air Pod Max’s and both had huge Bluetooth connectivity issues after 1 yr+. I got AppleCare for the 2nd pair, and Apple had to replace the left earcup, which I guess is the source of the connection issues. The Genius Bar employee seemed to indicate it’s a common issue, so it’s likely substandard parts/a design defect.

What I really dont like is the material on the ear cups. Also I would trade build quality to get lower weight.
