Kärestans död (Death of the beloved) - Arranged by Olof Wendel after Swåp
The ancient tune of this Knight’s Ballad (Swedish: Riddarvisor or Riddarballader, which translates as Knight’s Ballad or Ballads of Chivalry), is the origin of the Swedish national anthem. The song tells the heart breaking story of a man coming home to his village to find his fiancé has died while he was away.
Kärestans död appears on our 'Nordic Moods & Baroque Echoes' album which is out on the MOVE Records label and streams on major platforms.
