I remember a bloke here in W.A. in the late 90s had a Silvia and a Skyline, and he swapped the power plants in them. SR powered Skyline and RB powered Silvia. His notes? "They handled like each other". So the 6 cylinder Silvia handled like a RWD Skyline, and the 4-banger Skyline handled like a Silvia.

Andrew coming in a Texas shop boasting how much Aussies do it better. You guys have literally had 20+ years of a head start with these cars. The US just got them, don’t underestimate Yanks, if there is anything they know how to do is make shit go fast in a straight line.

I've been watching Motive Video forever but I think your "GTR God" smugness is getting a bit much. This humble guy lets you into his shop to make content and all you do is put down how much HP they are making with the cars they're building and they are 10 - 15 years behind Australia and how awesome your and Australian GTRs are. Been happening when you are around Americans for a while now.

I see this smugness as a reason to step up the game for americans with the skyline GTR’s. They are equal everywhere expect in the gtr realm. I cant blame the americans because people see these shitboxes and treat em like pristine examples of pure exoticness. Once the way the americans see skylines are over, they may grow but that shouldn’t ever happen. Demand from youtubers and collectors are increasing very fast. Bolting on jdm ots parts will give off “jdm” vibes to the average viewer while making money off of it. Ive knew about gtrs from old top gear and some gran turismo. Loved them but 80-100k+ for a basic example with who knows what history? Absolutely not. Hype. Thats all the gtr has now. Nothing i see is related to its racing pedigree and utter joy these old japanese made sport cars.

Aussies can be smug because we're better than you. In the late 90s there were hundreds of twin-turbo LS powered Commodores getting around, there were at least two companies that did nothing but fit twin-turbo kits to LS powered AUDM cars, we beat you at your own game with your own engines. You're 30 years behind on Skyline GTRs, easy.

@@Gooie69 True, Im not saying they'll be faster than us but they have a lot of amazing manufacturers and tuning companies, love drag racing, have big budgets and have been putting jap inline 6s into the 5s for donkeys. They might come out with something new/cool?? In terms of technology they're about 20yrs ahead of the world and their doing stuff automotive wise we wont see for decades

@@MotiveVideo I remember an old Zoom article about tuning RB20s for fun and shenanigans - I think Martin Donnon wrote much of it. Something about "a 400 horsepower RB20 will always and forever be a better engine than a 400 horsepower SR20". I like SRs and don't like RB20s, and I think they were right.

I hate Honda fan-boys K swapping like Stanceworks 308 Ferrari and now a R32 Skyline. Its the automotive equivalent of stolen valour. go K swap a Honda minivan or a Beat. It's not like Nissan hasn't built legendary 4's like the SR20DET or FJ20DET.
