I attended one of the marches in London when Tom Hand spoke to the crowd. I've never seen a man so broken. My relief when his daughter came home was palpable. Thank God for small mercies.

The sensitivity and insight of this father is astounding

I remember Thomas saying that shortly after she got back, Emily told him that she thought she had been away for nearly a year. That was how long it felt to her, and children don't have the same concept of time that adults do anyway. How can a child process or ever fully recover from something like that? One thing I'm thankful about is that at least nobody physically hurt her - other than not giving her enough food - and that she was there with people who cared about her and looked after her. The thought of a child going through something like that alone is unimaginable.

Such a resilient child. This story brings tears to my eyes, despite the happiness of her coming home. Its unspeakable what has been done to these innocent people. I pray all these families might have the relief of their loved ones coming home safe. God bless you all.

There is a interview 5 months ago with this father. At the time he thought his daughter had been killed in Gaza.Miracles do happen, praise to God.

I remember him wishing that she was dead because of fear of what they would do to her. There can be hope & this has thought me a lesson.

Dearest Hind Rajab, my heart, my thoughts, my prayers and my sympathy are multiplied to you a thousand times. You didn't deserve to have your last minutes of life spent in terror as the tanks surrounded you, shot your family in front of you and then destroyed your rescuers who were but minutes away and then cruelly, brutally and heartlessly took your little life from this world. Your voice asking for help in the dark and the cold, pleading for people to come and save you.... I will forever remember that with deep pain in my heart. You are our modern day Ann Frank.

Emily has been a brave girl. My heartfelt sympathy with the family. Mr. Thomas had a logical conclusion.

As a survivor of childhood trauma I can tell you Emily will never be the same. She will be checking locks, doors, closets, under beds, behind shower curtains. Be aware, this is a life journey.

She looks MUCH better than when she was first rescued. This is wonderful! I was worried for her. Her stare was so distant.

Glad to hear Thomas feels it's therapeutic to speak about the family's ordeal. His relationship with his daughter is something a lot of fathers would envy. He is a solid character.

What Hamas did to Emily is horrific and it's great she is home, safe and relatively healthy. Their brutal actions are not to be condoned for a second. But towards the end this becomes sickening to watch.. does any part of you even truly consider for a moment the plight of Gazan children right now? The countless deaths and unspeakable horrors they are facing at the hands of Israel? Really beggars belief watching her father towards the end, just sickening. You don't deserve the bubble of milk and honey you live in, mate. Not if you can't wake up and zoom out.

I find it moving how insightful Emily’s father is into his daughter’s needs. What a fabulous psychiatrist he might have been, with his big heart. God bless them.

I do worry thought that interviewing Emily and her dad ,it must upset her when he says certain things, such as the guilt he feels at other hostages still held captive anf that the family is broken , incase she feels she has to put on a brave face for her dad during the interview . She's very young and has seen the war from a very different viewpoint to his and knows exactly what it was like .She may feel protective of her dad and has to pretend sometimes so as notto upset him in such interviews .It'a a difficult situation for a child to be in. I pray that she will recover a more in time , but I don't think it will ever be completely erased from her mind ,or any of the other hostages and their families . Every time I see Emily and her dad , i just want to hug them .🤍

Dear Mr. Thomas Hand I always cry when I see you on TV and videos 😢 I feel and understand you so much. At least your dearest daughter with you now, so you shall find comfort and peace again, Amen💙🙏 Please just to let you know, I am still shocked and sad😔 since that Black Saturday... Imagine, I could have been there myself, because I was a soldier in Kibbutz Nirim, in early 1960's. When I terminated my army service there, some of my group of soldiers, stayed in Nirim, others in Nir-Oz, to join the community there, and became members of Kibbutz . But I had small brothers and sisters, and had to leave the Kibbutz and go back to the city, to help my family... For many years after, when I became independent, living and working in noisy city... I always regretted so much, that I could not choose to stay in the Kibbutz... Just to think, I could have been pulled by my hair, and dragged to the unknown dark place, with them monsters... "Zetim" So my life was saved, but others lost their homes and their lives in a mess... I was so shuttered , on that Saturday... I had no idea it was so terrible no less than S h o a 😢 Every day since that day, I see and hear such painful facts. It torture me emotionally, about other captives still in Gaza, and so sad for every Israeli soldier, killed or wounded in the war😢 Hope you don't mind me writing all this to you, I only mean, I am glad for you, that you and your daughter together, and wish thst you shall overcome all that bad dream... Be strong healthy and secure and happy, always 🌿🌴💙🙏
