True, but there are some difference between gewehr 98 and KAR98K: the KAR (which stand for Karbine) has a shorter barrel, the bolt handle is curved as opposed to the 98's straight one, and it doesn't have the huge roller-coaster sight, aka the Lange-visier.

Joseph Stalin you have to realize that the first one came out in 2003. They even made it in COD 2, 3, and WaW that all scoped bolt actions would reload rounds one at at time so you can basically say WWII went backwards. But still other games that are older than COD WWII have been able to show authenticity and realism.

For context, the Gewehr-98 is cock-on-open (meaning the gun recocks itself when the bolt is rotated upwards). A cock-on-close gun (like the Lee-Enfield) means the gun cocks when the bolt is closed, which causes the firing pin to snag on the sear.

@@linkfreeman1998 I have a K98 Myself, Bolt Caps on Mauser Rifles in the 1898 series have a lug that's built for a Rail under it in the Receiver. that's to keep things guided straight and to make sure the Trigger and searing mechanisms catch and hold the bolt-cap back since the Firing pin is twisted into it and via the spring, want to slam forward. The Bolt carrier keeps it from doing so except for when the Bolt is locked. that's when the Trigger Sear keeps the bolt-cap back, the Safety fin forces itself under the bolt-cap in order to take if off the trigger sear or to keep it off the trigger sear, while allowing bolt movement. the Safety's second position does that plus locks the Bolt from being unlocked. Fin Up means it's down for anything but Violence unless it's packing it's bayonet, Fin pointing Right means it doesn't want Violence like a Righteous Christian wants. nor to be Used at all unless compromised with by setting it back to Fin-up. I call it Mauser's Disclaimer jokingly Fin left means it's Ready or capable to be triggered before going off or going ballistic in the name of Political Violence. C'mon, you know I had to go there. the Nazis and Israelis gotta be laughing now. Minor correction: The Gewehr 98 in Battlefield 1 is not a K98K. As K98K was an improvement to the G98 to fit better the changing infantry roles in WWII.

the K98 is just a shortened version of the Mauser G98 hence the name Karabiner (Carbine) 98 Kurz

Vaso BMW Well, it wouldn't reduce the reload time at all. When you push the rounds into the chamber, you don't have to manually flick the clip out of the way. With Mauser 98's, you can just push the bolt forward and it automatically ejects the clip, hence making it so that the user can simply insert the rounds then push the bolt home.
