I stumbled across this one day and it absolutely blew me away! I'm def not a rap fan, it's usually a bit intense for me. BUT, I love Casey and this performance is possibly the most powerful thing I've ever seen. I have watched this so many times it's crazy and probably 10 reactions as well. I don't know of any other song that equals the emotion. There's no age limit to the appeal of this masterpiece (I'm 70) Bravo!!

Yes mate, have heard and watched many of Kasey's song. "Rattlin' Bones" used to be my fav until Lose Yourself came along.

I saw her perform this at Bluesfest Melbourne a few weeks ago & tbh I think the clip does do it justice. I get goosebumps and feel emotional just watching it & reliving what we experienced that afternoon. To the people asking why the audience is so still. That sort of emotional performance literally stops most people in their tracks! It was absolutely epic! And lack of movement certainly does not mean lack of enjoyment judging by the thunderous applause at the end of the song.

it's sad that you people are so superficial you hear rap and you don't listen to the poetry, now you get it in rock form and you appreciate it. That's called shallow. She's not underrated in Australia, she has a room full of our top Music awards with a separate wiki page listing awards and nominations. She has been around for decades and I think her song 'The Captain' was the backing track for Tony Soprano in the open ep of The Sopranos.

She is amazing. She got me through my depression as a tween. Her music is so underrated and beautiful. I met her when i was 12 and she not only is an amazing musician but she's also extremely down to earth and kind 💖💖💖

I saw her perform this live in a club in a small country town in Australia, and the sound was exactly the same. She was AMAZING.

Noticed that too - the video quality was poor (probably intentionally so) and I wasn’t expecting high fidelity.

@@JohnTravena the clip is made of fans recording her performing this song for the first time.. Kasey’s team didn’t have a clip for it, but when they realised how good it was, Kasey got on social media and asked fans to send in the footage they shot on their phones, then pieced together the clip from that. I like it, it gives a personal feel to it.. it’s raw and it works.

The debut was at the Wildflower Festival in the Yarra Valley (Victoria) Marsh 2022....then it was the encore song at every show during her Behind the Barricades tour throughout May 2022 - THIS was the 17th & last night of the tour - the song had been so well received - "they" decided to record it as a live track at the mixing desk....after hearing the playback they were kicking themselves for not filming it - THAT'S when Kasey sent out the request to fans for footage.

Not to rub it in but it was an epic live performance. I will never forget it. She is an amazing live performer. Just one of those artists that creates an awesome atmosphere.

I never even heard the original, and I never would have either, if not for this cover. You can be sure there are MILLIONS of people who would never listen to the original, because it's not their style of music. But because Kasey Chambers did it, and did it so incredibly well, now millions more people are hearing this song for the first time. Anyone who really likes the original has to consider that a good thing. Eminem didn't think it was a crime. Far from it. So that puts you at odds with the original artist, too.

Couple of reasons...... 1. It's a theatre with very steep seating. 2. The audience were told it was being recorded at the mixing desk for a live performance track & to please keep their "enthusiasm" in check during the actual song.....which is why the go off at the end.

She can be very blunt. She didn't say dickhead. The word she used rhymes with blunt.

I Love this version, but to me as a Detroiter and a big fan of Em, the original has a desperate feel that maybe many people can’t grasp. If you know the world he grew up in, and the people and shit he had to overcome, you get it!
