This is why this is one of my favorite Katy Perry songs. For awhile I just listened to the song because it was a bop. Then I actually listened and realized what she was actually saying. The song is incredibly hypnotic which allows you to be distracted from the horrors of the world.

Very very deep. Everyone in this world seems to be chained to the rhythm which symbolizes social media or trending thoughts. Most of us have fell into the life of "parrot", we speak what others are speaking, we do what others are doing, we play what others are playing, we wear what others are wearing, even those things are NOT comfortable or suitable for us. We follow everyone else's steps, we lose our own style, we lose our own comfortable way of living, we lose our own creative thinking. What are the things left? Just brains without minds, thoughts without ideas and bodies without souls. We are all manipulated, we are all modified, we are all chained to the rhythm.

Everyone who listened to the lyrics beyond the chorus knows it's a social critique, but people disagree on what it's critiquing. Is it criticizing people's inability to express their own opinions, or express them in a healthy way? Or does it criticize capitialism in the music industry? I think that Katy had good intentions, but she could've chose one specific theme and stuck to it, and I do agree that if her message was the first priority, she should've self-produced the song.

And stated that they have a plan for Katy that they're excited for. But nothing happened in 2018. You can read his full conversation here 4)Katy released Harley's In Hawaii in 2019, which was a fan-favourite, was the fastest Katy Perry song ever to enter iTunes USA Top 10. But the song wasnt sent to the radios, it got sent later when the hype died down. 5)What is more strange about this is that even though HIH was so fast to enter the top 10, the song wouldnt come up when you searched it on iTunes. @beautiful mind I hope so too. But as an American I'll tell you for a fact that this nation is being controlled by Evangelicals (extreme form of Christianity). They are persecuting anyone that isn't what they'd call normal. I myself, come from an Orthodox Jewish community and I'm Agnostic, Lesbian, and Progressive. I'm receiving a lot of persecution from my community as well and the state doesn't care. I hope things get better for both of us :((
