Very smart of him to sing originals. He's putting them out there as his resume. He won't win but will definitely live on in music with a record deal. Most times not winning American Idol is how to really win.

What a great songwriter and arranger! He's very creative and I really love his song. It's so emotional and I could relate. This was his best he's done so far. I'm not sure if he will make the top 5 or not because producers. But no matter what happens, he deserves to go far. We need to support him no matter what happens. He knows how to write songs and knows how to produce. People should let him produce their music if they wanted.
