This was an unfair matchup to be a second-round game. This was two Final Four contenders thrown together early because of really bad seeding, but it sure made for a classic game!

energy in this game was so crazy ... easily the best game of the tournament that year and a huge heartbreaker bc i loved that WS squad ... Cleanthony is just a monster

Little did we know Van Vleet would be huge for the Raptors in a Finals win against the Warriors and go undrafted.

I remember watching this game live and when it was finished I said this is one of the top 5 NCAA games I’ve ever seen that still stands to this day heartbreaking loss for the Shockers! They went toe to toe with Goliath and didn’t flinch!

For my money, the best game of the entire 2014 tournament. Like watching a heavyweight fight with both fighters immediately giving right back just as good as they'd just taken all game long. Whether you were a Kentucky fan or not, there's no denying their run to the title game defeating Louisville, Michigan, & Wisconsin all in nail biters were also among some of the tournament's best games. But this game from the opening tip seemed to have a really special kind of aura surrounding it for both teams. It's just a shame this game was played in the round of 32 instead of as a regional final or a Final Four type game, because that's what it really seemed like to me anyway.

I remember being soooo upset when the bracket came out and these two were lined up for the round of 32. A Kentucky fan but man did I love that WS squad as a basketball fan. In hindsight the game we got was worth it
