4 ΡΠΎΠΊΠΈ ΡΠΎΠΌΡFlorida Powerboat Club members get on the throttles as they head through the scenic Florida Keys, stopping at Gilberts Resort in Key Largo and Faro Blanco in Marathon. Then we say farewell to the Wednesday boating group and return to Miami, where nearly 180 teams from around the globe are preparing for the big Thursday Run. What an amazing display of high-performance hardware as the Haulover Marine Center prepares the teams for the Thursday morning start, which kicks off with a dockside poker card from the lovely FPC Girls!! Time to REACH FOR THAT LUCKY CARD!

Finally got my tour of the Haulover Marine Center (drone shot inside). thanks Stu. I got to see only 1 FPC boat back in January 2020 when I was in Miami for 1 day. It was worth it though. Cool seeing the video of Haulover marina. Looking forward to more videos.

Yes Stu you can also check the websites that tell you when the tide is goin to be high or low maybe next time. It was just a suggestion

Yes but that is not an exact science because its a combination of the winds and seas offshore. Plus, the tide runs different speeds at different times. Like I say in the video...ONE way to check is buzz by it and if it doesn't look inviting, just follow the shoreline back to the ICW channel!

Serious question stu, are you advising guests to not drink alcohol even with a pro captain manning helm?

Pro captain manning helm is not common in our sport, mostly owners drive their own boats. And, the other concern is...even if the driver is not drinking, if there was ever an incident on the water, we want the crew members to be alert and able to respond in the case of any emergency

First of all, it's 10 in the morning! Second, On a powerboat....it is the LOOK and the ASSUMPTION that if the crew are drinking so is the captain. And, in my 30 years doing this, there is about 90% chance that is the case! This is a high-speed sport in a group setting, no room for stupidity and requires tack-sharp skills...not only from driver, but crew are part of that team! Moreover, it is an image that does not go well with poker runs, and trust me we are in a "highly visible" sport where image is everything. Powerboaters get a bad rap sometimes for no reason, and I am trying to dispel that image.

Are you sure it wasn't an energy drink? That narrow container looks like a red bull container but if it was 10am drinking is a bad sign. Also with that kind of speed and power you have to be on alert.
