I think Kids In America, View From A Bridge and You Keep Me Hanging On are slightly better.

It's so not though, and this is an edit. All her classics are the underrated ones, and actually, she's the only pop person I know where virtually EVERYTHING she does IS a single. Most people pad their albums out with filler, or have good stuff hiding away in place of bad choices for singles, but Kim is so brilliant it's just wrong to go on about certain singles. Ironically, 'Kids In America' is about the least exciting thing she ever did, bar the soul stuff in 1995 and all the covers she only ever does now, and bleeding Christmas songs, but you want classic original brilliance no pone can ever touch, listen to ALL of her her three career-best and much overlooked albums (SELECT from '82, CATCH AS CATCH CAN from '83, and TEASES & DARES from '84-the most brilliant trilogy anyone has ever managed one after the other. The "Close" stuff is fine enough from anyone, from her a little bit safe, a slight easy approach for the simple year of 1988. Way prefer the unpredictable, synth heavy, often eerie, spooky stuff from before that told stories, locked up in brilliant, atmospheric music, and album openers don't come any better than 'The Touch' or 'House Of Salome' and 'Ego'. Songs that were barely made singles-'Turn It On', 'Shangri-La', 'Take Me Tonight', 'Stay Awhile', 'Bitter Is Better' to all the ones that are ignored-even the odd few barely made it past the internet like the 2002 B-side 'All About Me' and the duet with ex-Brother Beyond frontman 'If There Was Love' from the year before to some classics like 'Get Out' and 'Greatest Journey' on her "goodbye I'm retiring into karaoke and kids and covers hell" COME OUT AND PLAY. Come off it, saying she's recorded quite a few classics is like saying cats are a little lazy or Madonna the vile is a bit of a show-off! Please be serious.
