It’s a no head shots match. Lots of rules to keep everyone safe. -Nothing to the head- no punches or kicks to the head. -No elbows. -No spinning techniques. -Body protection gear, mouth guards, shin guards. No one ever gets hurt in these junior bouts here. Lots of rules in place to make it a safe environment. A lot of other countries have head shots and less protective gear on at this age, but here not in Australia. Once head shots get introduced we will be wearing head gear. The training involved in the lead up takes a lot of discipline, and teaches a lot of respect. Keeps kids active, fit and in line . You would find more injuries in a game of football then in one of these bouts. And it less damaging than kids who grow up eating unhealthy foods sitting on their arses day in and out.
