I've watched the pre 2000 KISS concerts and they went OFF.. especially the 1996 concert at Tiger stadium. I'm a firm believer that mobile phones have destroyed the atmosphere at their concerts. So sad.. why have people gotta do this when they can go a watch it later.

I was there 14 yo. Good old Sydney Showground. Caught the KISS bus from Wollongong. Remember sitting in the stand directly in front. And the green glow spaghetti everywhere.

13 years old and my Dad, god bless his soul waited for me at the bat and ball pub in Moore park until the concert finished. I still remember when on the day of a train strike in Sydney my father and I caught 3 buses and 2 taxi so we could get to town hall to buy the ticket 2 days before the concert. And he bought me my first kiss album love gun. Miss you pops

The best kiss gig recorded in my opinion. I saw them at bingley hall uk on this tour aged 12. Stanley’s voice is top notch. Everyone’s on fire and Eric’s a machine. Kiss fan most of my days. Massive holes been left.

This was the very first live concert I ever attended. Was magical show for a young boy. Was with a large group of mates and we slept outside the venue for 3 nights beforehand.

Yeah, me too...Stayed at VFL Park car park the night before, seen some try to do a Gene Simmons fire breathing only for it to backfire and he had to go to hospital!!! Residents complained about the sound levels but hey they knew it was gonna be loud! Definitely one of the best concerts I've seen!!!

I bought my first guitar 1979 Gibson Les Paul Custom wine/gold with chainsaw case in a matter of days after attending this tour while in Jackson, MS and Memphis, TN shows due to Ace's favorite axe.. and what is super cool I got the chance to strum Paul Stanley's original Ibanez Iceman while it was on loan at Strings and Things in Memphis and Paul was using his new broken mirror Ibanez during the Dynasty Tour.... I would say strumming it while it was laying in it flight case set the fire under my azz into playing even still today.... Thanks Paul and Ace for your inspirations... you guys are still the best ❤ y'all 👍

I have tickets to a Kiss concert in about three weeks, that's been canx due to Covid. Don't know if I'm sad or relieved. Last time I noticed all the headbangers in front of me had a large bald spot on top of their heads... They were not munks, but they *were* all my age - *or younger!* Not to worry though, I've figured it out. Next time I'll stand all the way in the front. No chrome-domes to see then, unless you stand behind me. Viva la illusion! 😉

i so desperately wanted to see them when they came to Melbourne in the same year. My best friends Mum had got us front row tickets and i was so excited. Sadly i was only 11 and Dad wouldnt let me go. I was devastated as you can imagine. I did get to see them when they came to Melbourne in 2013 so i made up for it. Thanks for posting this.

This was my first concert and I was 13 years old. I still remember a lot of the show. The concert was outdoors at the sydney cricket ground and was sold out but on the day of the show, there was a train strike so many people were unable to go resulting in the venue being half full. The one thing that I kept on thinking during the show was that the songs were so much faster live than they were on record, especially "I was made for loving you". Such a memorable concert, especially seeing that it was my first ever concert.

@@ferox965 Hi, no, they won't dp the palladium show, there is no soundboard version available. It's available on bootlegs but all the versions sound the same. Its not a great recording and no one has released a soundboard version, probably because it just doesn;t excist. Otherwise someone would have released it years ago.

Eric Carr killed it with his drumming, great harmonies, and his awesome vocal on Black Diamond! Definitely 1 of their better concerts. Plus they were in standard tuning here as Paul was kicking ass with his singing . I loved the Unmasked tunes! Too bad Kiss only did 1 concert in the US . I would of definitely seem them live in 1980

KISS was HUGE in Europe and Australia in 1980. Dynasty and Unmasked sold as hotcakes and most of the die hard fans of today in Europe became fans in 79-80. So this tour had to be a blast for them with sold out shows everywhere with several hits playing on every radio stations. KISS owned the rock scene in Europe in 1980. They were as huge here in 1980 as they were in USA in 1977.

@@BUNKERwebTVinteresting that you say they were huge in Europe at this time, maybe but NOT in the UK, most British kiss fans thought they were a joke at this point, and much preferred the older Kiss songs, but we never got to see them in the '70's, which was a shame. We had to wait untill the '80's to see them live 😢

When i was 15 we had a friend that has Eric cars drum kit. He played great guitar and right us kiss songs among others. We would watch this bootleg or jam all these these songs plus Black Sabbath and others. What a great time time. I learned so much on guitar from this band.

The Unmasked tour! Only one show here in the US, which is a shame because I love that album. If you pay attention to the intro to Detroit Rock City, once Eric kicks in with the drums, the tempo picks up exponentially. Much like the Animalize: Live Uncensored video, where all the songs were played a million miles an hour. Love the energy of the band at that point.

Man, this is a good show. High energy, up-tempo, and tight. Eric Carr really was an upgrade for the band around this time. Every song feels at least half-beat faster than it's album equivalent.

If KISS would had not made "Unmasked" in 1980 and "Music from the Elder" in 1981 their popularity would not had gone to Van Halen. The wait until 1982 for the hard rocking "Creatures of the Night" would probably keep the whole band intact with them keeping their makeup on throughout the 1980s. Too bad.

@12:26 - when Paul starts working the crowd, and talks about "ROCK & ROLL" and "by the end of the night, we're gonna take Sydney DOWN TO THE GROUND!", I jokingly envisioned, in my head, following it up by going into a soft song like "Shandi". I started laughing when, holy crap, he actually DID follow up with "Shandi"! I mean, wth, Paul? That's the kind of thing you say before going into a song like "Shout It Out Loud" or "Deuce" - you cannot follow up "taking Syndey down to the ground" by then saying "we're gonna take it down a notch here . . .". 😄 Great show, otherwise!

I was at this show. Sydney show ground.....? Been away for a while so not real sure. I remember Ace having to push back the Drum Platform on stage and he was just out of it. But hey that is Ace.....and lets us face it Ace is KISS....ask the Solo Albums and Not I was made for Loving ;) 2021 touring Oz again and this time with Lip Sync "Live " ......Hey maybe they will do "Soul Station Covers" :)

If you want Kiss to sound just like the Albums then don't go to the concerts. This show is an example of showing off differences to make a concert more exciting. Saying hey I never heard Paul sing like that before and other stuff. So enjoy this gem I just wish it could have been better video quality but at least the sound is there. I've been to a lot of concerts you know from Styx meatloaf you know all them concerts they were good but the best concert ever went to was a Kiss concert KISS concert KISS concert I think we are like the sixth City on their whatever tour was the end of the road tour and that was like 3 years ago they were here still still the best band

When kiss goes to Australia in November I would think that there are quite a few good Aussie bands on the scene open up for them.The Screaming Jets are a band that I wish made a bigger impact when they came to the U.S A. In the 90’s and played the Cat Club in N.YC.

I think you can find Paul's audiobook here on YT, where he amongst other things compare the different members of the band, and not in a flattering way. Peter apparently at times would try to ⨑⩁₡ʞ with the band by slowing down or speeding up the rythm during live shows. If my memory don't fail me, Paul said that Eric's personality and work ethics brought structure back in the band, and that Kiss probably would be no more if not for him.

Eric was the type of drummer they wanted and needed for the 80s after working with the master Anton Fig on two albums. Peter was trash after Love Gun. The long break after the Love Gun tour probably wrecked him.
