I watched this game in Australia live in my local pub. The staff had to almost restrain me, I was jumping up and down, and old regulars that were having a quiet beer and a bet on the races , were getting a bit miffed. What an incredible performance by Klay, and the fact that I got to experience my favourite player, having his best performance, in real-time.... OMG! What a day!

The fact that this guy was the 3rd best player on the 2017 warriors shows that’s the best team of all time. Insane talent.

Even more incredible is that he didn't take a shot till there was less then 10 minutes in the quarter, and he had only had like 8 in almost half the quarter. The last 6 minutes and 5 seconds he scored 29 pts....really 29 pts in half a quarter is out of this world.

Something I never noticed before: Steve Kerr had publicly said after the game that at halftime, he was so angry that he said he wasn't going to call any more plays the rest of the game. The players were on their own. Fortunately, Klay Thompson happened in the 3rd. And without Kerr calling plays, take a look at the huddle at the 6:12 mark. David Lee covers his mouth, but you can bet he's saying "Elevator Doors"--the Warriors' signature play last year, and you can even see his hand motion that signals the Elevator Doors play. On the ensuing Warriors possession, which for some reason is not shown in this video, the Warriors run that Elevator Doors play, where Lee and Green "close the doors," blocking Klay's defender and freeing up Klay for an open 3, which he hit. Nothing major--I just thought it was cool that the players, without their coach, recognized Klay's history-in-the-making, and drew up their own play for him in that 3rd quarter.

I was at a Leon Russell show that night, and when it ended I quickly checked the box score and saw that Klay had got 52 in a victory. I got home and my teenage son runs up and yells "Did you hear about Klay?" And I said "Yeah, 52, that's awesome." He said "NO. I mean his 37!" And I said "What do you mean? The box score says he got 52." He said "Dad, I recorded it. Come here and watch the greatest third quarter ever." And so we did. Absolutely amazing!

Those last two free throws came from a foul in the midcourt. Klay took a 30-footer that didn't count and swished it. What a night.
