Magic defined my teenage years and I never thought anyone could surpass what he meant to me. Then came Kobe and he stepped right up next to Magic and said, "Excuse me, sir, but you're in my seat." Grew up hating Kobe as a Celtics fan in the 90's and on, and we all breathed a sigh of relief when he retired because we respected his game. It sucks that he's gone, he was inspiring as an athlete and competitor, even the Celtics fans can agree on that. A generational talent for sure with an in-game spirit that's surely missed nowadays.
