There was a Detroit DJ that would play this song every night at midnight in the 80’s. It was so cool. This is COOL jazz.

I remember this song as a young child 9yrs old. I loved it. Helped me to relax.

I was 14 years old when I first heard this piece. On the streets of Baltimore . Wow ! Watching all the players back in the day. I come from a large family. I think of Mom & Dad my siblings 5 4boys & one girl in the middle. It was about 50 of us who lived in one 5 block radius and everybody knew our family. Filled with nothing but love. And when listen to Summer madness with my eyes closed I can almost reach out and touch that time , place and feeling again. The girls I had crushes on but just admired them from a far. The style I had made me one of the coolest young cats above the rest . Thank you Kool And The Gang for Summer Madness.

(Developed by a design team headed by "ARP" namesake Alan R. Pearlman and engineer Dennis Colin in 1970). The magical sounding string washes were done on a Mellotron.

Many decades ago, I used to listen to a Detroit radio station that in the evening featured radio personality Alan Almond - Pillow Talk - that played love songs for a good part of the evening. This song was his theme song. He would often end his show with "Sweet dreams angel". I still miss that part of my younger days.
