Thanks for that information. I have been questioning from the start why Kovalev wanted an American coach. He was defeating everyone effortlessly when he first came to fight in America. Why would Kovalev get an American trainer like John Jackson , when Kovalev was already knocking out every American fighter they put in front of him? Sounds like the stupidity of some advice from Kathy Duva.

Russians React fighters from Kazakhstan and areas around tend to throw one punch at a time. They have more of a power punching/ counter punching style. You not going to take everybody out with one punch.

Only way Kovalev wins is if he knocks him out, because the judges sure as hell won't give him a decision. Hard to knock out somebody that grabs, wrestles, headbutts, and low blows your ass for 12 rounds.

george patsouras I was with ward in those fights . But more than the Jackson situation, what will help kovalev, ARE THE FIGHTS WITH WARD. Clearly he has began training centered around the problems he had with ward, as well as what he did well. I saw video of kovalev training by twirling in circles until he was drunk with dizziness (pun intend3d? Haha), and he shadow boxed while being dizzy as he could get. Which shows that ward DID stun him, more than once, and he didn't have an answer to it when it surprised him. Now here in this video he is practicing massive body shots. Whether kovalev or his fans wanna believe it or not, most of the ward body work was way legal, and it was a big fight hand that stunned him before the body shots ended it anyway. So I believe he is training for the parts of the ward fights that he didn't answer for. Which is going to help. Also he learned a new pace, ebb and flow, to those fights. I liken this to the masterclass that Floyd put on Saul Alvarez, and how Canelo responded ever since. Not saying ward put a masterclass on as much as Floyd did vs Alvarez, but I AM saying Canello and kovalev Will both be more refined fighters after those turning points in their careers

Not at all, he is perfect at long range with great power,speed,timing etc. He can't get power on the inside he is not made for that, i think that the major mistake John David Jackson did was to train Kova for the inside instead of fighting in the outside

chet michael you don't even know what a casual is. Son. Listen. The record proves otherwise. 10 20 30 years from now this won't be a debate. Log off. Kovalev would lose a 3rd time. The proof is in the numbers. Plus he gases b/c his conditioning is trash.
