This song perfectly describes what I'm going through right now. I had a perfect, loving caring girlfriend that accepted every part and flaw of me. She treated me like a king and went above and beyond for me and I took it all for granted, I didn't do nearly as much as she did for me. Despite telling me how she felt and wanted me to do more and change, I never did. Like the song says, you never know what you truly have until it's gone. I didn't deserve her....

She didn't love you as you were. She wasn't as perfect as you say or as you idealized her to be. You are better off without her, really. People who really love you don't try to change you all the time. They accept most of you at some point. She wasn't a good fit for you , my friend. Accept that and move on. It's the best you can do for yourself.

If you love someone deeply but they have a side to them tha is easily prone to lying or violence,would you try to help them change for the better as much as you can because you love the person,or you would just accept that side of the person because you claim to love the person? It's much better to be with someone who continually seeks your improvement than to be with someone who would not really nudge you in the right direction,just because they claim to love you or accept you for who you are....Yes,the person has to love you for who you are,but at the same time the person must also be interested in your growth,and vice versa.... So I my opinion,he was much better off while she was around ...
