I remember watching this for the first time, at the end I was shocked, I was crying, my jaw dropped and I couldn’t express one word cause I was understanding what was going on with all the references and 3 years later I got the same feeling, Lady Gaga is beyond incredible

That millisecond when they show that she was resuscitated for the first time at 2:17, where she symbolically gets pulled to the ground. Literally a split second. Blows my mind

When you struggle with trauma, your mind goes off and disconnects from reality, “reality and dreams can interconnect”. Her mind tries to creat a “ happier” place even though she had the accident, ex. Apples - blood, that guy at the beginning on the pillow actually crashed, etc. I think that’s all about and reminds me a little Marry the night music video intro: “It’s sort of like my past is an unfinished painting and as the artist of that painting I must fill in all the ugly holes, and make it beautiful again.”

Ten years from now, this video will still be too ahead of its time. Gaga’s work is visionary and inspirational.

I love that the video had to have an ad because it was being sponsored, but the ad was literally incorporated into the story of the video. Like, LG's slogan "Life's Good" appearing literally stands in contrast to the video's story, and offers a dark irony to it. The way the advert was incorporated into the concept of the video, instead of just being a random ad, was simply brilliant.

Yes this video has aesthetic influences: "The Color of pomegranates" and "Alejandro Jodorowsky" BUT don't forget that the song is about depression and antipsychotics that she uses. I believe that this "strange world" (aesthetically influenced by the movies cited) is THE MENTAL STATE where she is when she has a crisis. This crisis is interrupted when she uses the antipsychotics and goes back to the real world The antipsychotics are quoted in the song called "dolls" ("Keep my dolls inside diamond boxes") and in the video we have a part where she holds a purse in one hand and in the other she holds a doll = antipsychotic.

This is by far one of my favorite music videos of hers. Everything connects so well at the end of it, and her acting always gives me the chills. Pure art with such a deeper meaning. This is definitely one of those relatable fever dreams if you think about it. Like waking up to your entire foot or arm fallen asleep in a panic lol although that’s definitely not as crazy as waking up to a car collision accident or anything like that. Which could mean they shocked her to get her heart beating again, than shes in a room with everyone in it. Almost like how they are placed in the real world, thats where she wakes up into the real world and realizes what's really going on.

Guys I didn't know this but if you pause very quickly on 2:17, you can see that after the paramedics try to bring Stefani back to consciousness, for a split second you see the reality and not the hallucinations.
