Lamelo is on a team where he doesn’t have to score. Shot over 60% from the field, doesn’t even have to assert himself as scorer. Just distribute and play smart defense without fouling. Rocket Watts & Melo Ball looking real unbothered by any defense. Isaiah Jackson just out there running the floor and contesting everything

T he’s doing the opposite of his time in Lithuania. You can see he’s deferring to his teammates and they respect him and his game. I’d be surprised if he doesn’t get picked in the top five of his class.

Robert Howell he was playing guard, so he should naturally be good at open threes. There really wasn't that much risk, and I've seen NBA players do the same.

Robert Howell I do agree it was riskier, but take into consideration that this was a completely open shot coming from a good pass. If we assume he has curry's 3 point percentage, then we can also conclude that he has the same open 3/practice percentage, which is well over 44%. I completely agree it wasn't completely worth it, but sometimes low reward is worth the risk.

I don't know, LaMelo has a lot of trick passes in the open court and can sink an open shot from behind the three, but he is not as big, powerful or muscular as some of his teammates, which shows up in his defense. He is fun to watch but he may just lack some fundamentals and covers that up with glitzy moves. Reminds me a little of Adam Morrison. This might even become a problem in high level Division I. He needs to grow taller or more muscular, probably both and then work on his half court game.
