A second comment, noticed in out-takes you are from St, Petersburg, spent a week in your Beautiful Beautiful City a long time ago 1979 to be precise when it had Soviet name Leningrad. So much Culture, Art and Magnificent Architecture and what I loved most were the Jet/Hydro Foils!!! on the rivers, watched them for hours but sadly never got the chance to go on one. So maybe sometime you are back visiting you will do a tour of one of the original ones. OK bye again.

This is my second time watching this boat tour. She's a stunning one. I thought I was a Catamaran person but its yachts like these that make me doubt my own tastes.

While the boat is WOW!, I am more excited by how you conduct your tours. You present these boats like your shopping for yourself - looking at every corner, shelf and feature. It gives the best 'feel' of the boat rather than an introduction to the layouts. Keep up the great work ...

Wow. This is a fantastic yacht. I love that the wood theme continues into the shower areas and the design consistency throughout the craft without seeming bland at all. Beautiful actually even without any personalization from decorations. The efficient use of space that keeps the design consistency yet provides such a smart offering of unique and useful amenities is amazing in this vessel. It’s just packed full of useful amenities!! I am thoroughly impressed and this particular craft has absolutely become an option. My only question/concern is the battery systems lifespan, charging and maintenance requirements, and safety protocols in detail. Like any newly introduced technology, how tried and true will the predictable reliability be and what are the specific trade offs in committing to this system of propulsion and power generation/supply as opposed to the tried and true straight diesel powered systems with most often two generators backing up the primary engines so there is only an extremely remote possibility of losing full power to, God forbid, both engine and to the rest of the vessel. Other than that, this is a quite obvious choice. Stunning visual appeal jam packed with amenities and an obvious focus on strength and high quality craftsmanship. This vessel is modern enough looking without a seemingly cold feel that a lot of modernized designs seem to project when everything is drowned in white finishes instead of nicely exposed wood with an intentional feel to the surface as was noted in her reaction to that touch sensation. Nice work. Extremely impressed over here!! 👍🏻😎👍🏻

Very nice. Retrofitting older less efficient boats with full hybrid systems will probably be a big thing. Range is always a problem on most mid-sized boats, and even if it takes longer this will be better than relying on support ships.

In this video, you appear to be calmer, your voice and body movements are calmer, you seem to be more at ease with yourself, this is all good, this is a positive thing, you appear to have matured and grown in your videos. Thanks for a nice overview of an interesting boat with a hybrid Diesel-electric drive. 34:41 The parallel hybrid system consists of two 1000 horsepower Caterpillar Diesel engines each connected to a gearbox with a 60 kW electric motor connected to the other side of the gearbox via a clutch. Either Diesel or electric motor can turn its gearbox and propshaft. Also the Diesel can run the electric motor as a generator to charge the 145 kWh "Metron" branded Lithium ion battery bank. Top speed is 25 knots on Diesel drive and 8 knots on electric drive. Electric drive handles most of the low speed cruising and Diesel does high speed cruising, resulting in almost no Diesel idle time on the engines, since the electric does most of what would be idle and low speed use of the Diesels. (When the Diesel is running to move the boat, it's also recharging the battery bank.) Udo pointed out that, over time, this results in many fewer engine hours on the Diesels, which can help resale value, reduce maintenance costs, etc. He also pointed out that Diesels don't run as well (or cleanly) at low power or idle compared to cruise power. Udo estimated a 20 nautical mile range on electric power alone (from the battery bank to the electric motor). In addition to the main Diesels, the separate generators can also charge the Lithium ion battery bank. Correction: This vessel almost certainly does not use Lithium Polymer batteries. Lithium Polymer batteries would use a solid or gel polymer electrolyte, i.e. the electrolyte itself is a polymer. Most Lithium ion batteries use a liquid electrolyte with a polymer separator. But the polymer separator is NOT the electrolyte. Actual Lithium Polymer batteries (using a polymer electrolyte) are uncommon. Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4) batteries that are commonly used in portable power tools, marine applications, etc., use Phosphate, not a polymer electrolyte. That's where the PO4 comes from in the battery chemistry: Phosphate, not polymer. In fact, the maker if this vessel's batteries, Metron, offers Lithium Iron Phosphate for boat use. Most other commercial marine Lithium ion batteries (Mastervolt, Relion, Balttle Born, etc.) are also LiFePo. This is a relatively common misunderstanding. The battery was mentioned in the specs as 129 KW. While it's quite possible this battery bank can produce 129 KW of power (actually probably several times that), more likely you were trying to mention the battery capacity. Battery capacity is usually specified in kiloWatt-hours (kW/h) which is a unit of energy. kiloWatts (kW) is a unit of power. The two are not the same. (Energy is power integrated over time.)

Informative and fun! Great video. When you guys discussed the electric locking mechanism on the side door I was very happy to see there was a manual override to still operate incase of a power failure, well though out. The galley table was a fabulous touch. Not to mention the hybrid power is certainly a no brainer.

A really good point was made. Diesels hate idling for long periods. MTU say in their manuals you have to run the engine at full power for at least 30 minutes every week to blow out all the cr@p. Better to have generators running at an optimum set speed to supply power and battery re-charge, and just keep the main engines shut off.

Wow!!! I thought it was awesome buying the new 2021 F150 Hybrid with a built in 7.2 kw generator, which is a feature I use a lot! It will power the A/C in my travel trailer, but not for 3-4 days without the engine cutting in!! Heh heh. A very interesting review.

This is what I want! I like the idea of the hybrid yacht. Was it me or did the cabins seem a little small for a 68’? I can’t wait for builders like Nordhavn and Marlow to go hybrid. Benetti has the “b. yond” hybrid and Arcadia have some nice eco tech in their yachts.
