urgh Anya's singing and acting in this i mean and the other lead girl actor here looks talented too! after The Queen's Gambit, I'm just falling in love with Anya more and more! what a rising star, i only wish more success manifesting for her, she's so inspiring for an aspiring actor like me! and this is set in Soho, London i mean, if this didn't already look amazing, it's in my country wow can't wait!

so happy to see anya taylor joy finally getting wide recognition since her breakthrough in the queen's gambit. loved her since the witch. EDIT: everyone, I have already watched the witch, that was the first film I watched her in. however, I define a "breakthrough role" as a role that is universally praised and seen by the mainstream. to me, I consider the queen's gambit that bc of her first, prestigious wins in mainstream critics awards for the golden globes, critics choice, and SAG awards for the queen's gambit (and probably the emmy though she will have competition with Kate Winslet for Mare of Easttown which was equally as impressive but we'll see) this is significant bc she has never been nominated before and is winning on her first nominations! also, EVERYONE has seen the queen's gambit or at least heard of it, she was able to host SNL for the first time bc of it and even had a sketch for it. Everyone that knows of Anya Taylor Joy would easily say the first project that comes to mind is The Queen's Gambit, she is most recongizable for that role from the general public. Split could be considered her first mainstream role, but that film got mixed reviews and wasn't awarded in places and the only actor that everyone talked about in that film was James McAvoy. I rest my case now.

I saw Anya Taylor-Joy and was like nice, definitely have a look. See Edgar Wright as well and its going onto the need to watch list

Anya Taylor-Joy and Thomasin McKenzie, together with Abigail Breslin are my favorite young Hollywood actresses. They all started pretty young and managed to navigate their way across that tricky transition period relatively unscathed. They looked to be heading in the right direction too.

Edgar Wright is one of the few filmmakers who knows how to extract awe worthy visuals and a narrative that you can marvel at and study at the same time for hours

I’m glad Edgar wrights got a female screenwriter to co-write this movie. I love all of his films but even I can admit his female characters are underwritten, so for his first female led movie this was important. And I can’t wait to see it when theatres reopen.
