Lonzo Ball has elite vision, is a transcendent passer, and should be an amazing floor general for the Lakers. Also, his elite rebounding ability allows him to throw outlet passes and hit-ahead passes that can be monumental, especially when opposing defenses aren't given a chance to organize. In other words, his tremendous rebounding skill allows him to dominate in transition. Moreover, while his man defense needs work (to say the least), his off-ball defense is more than solid. His instincts, height, and IQ helps in this area. Clearly, passing, rebounding, and help defense are all strengths of his. There is NO other guard in this draft that can do these three things (passing, rebounding, help defense) better than Lonzo Ball. Statistical evidence: Through six games in Summer League, Ball averaged 9.3 assists, 7.7 rebounds, and 2.5 steals per game. Now onto scoring. There is ample evidence that Lonzo Ball can shoot. He shot 40% from threes in college. Coach Walton said that Ball has been continuously working on his shot this summer (with shooting coach Miles Simon). I expect the shot to translate. Furthermore, his scoring ability around the basket shouldn't be underestimated either. He did shoot 70% from that area in college. Simply put, Ball's passing threat, along with less traffic in the paint (due to Brook Lopez operating on the perimeter), will open up lanes for him to penetrate and get easy buckets around the basket. In case a help defender cheats, Ball will simply pass the ball to the open man, off of that penetration. Also, him playing off the ball, and showcasing his back door cutting abilities, should help him be efficient in this area (around the basket) as well. In the end, I believe Lonzo Ball has a diverse enough arsenal to be a very good scorer on the next level. Body development, familiarity with teammates, and just general practice should help in this department as well. Statistically, Ball scored 16.3 points per game.
