Russia has massively increased defense spending. They will spend 40% of the government budget this and the coming years. Furthermore North Korea and Iran has send millions of artillery shells, drones and missiles to Russia. If you watch the Russian TV they frequently talk about invading the baltics, poland etc…all NATO members. The threat is real.

Ukraine annexed the Czech region of Carpathien Rus in 1945 and does not want to return it !!! It is a country of 13,352 km2 (5,155 sq mi) which is about the same size as Crimea. Historically, this territory never belonged to Ukraine. But Ukraine has only been growing for the last 300 years, occupying lands that do not belong to it.

Putin will only strike where he thinks the weak links are, e.g denuclearized, non NATO member Ukraine. As long as Europe and NATO keep giving a clear signal 'we are prepared', it's highly unlikely he will make this move. That's why we do these games and exercises, people don't realise it's not about inviting or provoking wars, it's an important part of preventing them. Like when Wagner started marching on Moscow threatening a coup, that was a major escalation the biggest direct military challenge to Putin's power ever seen before in Russia. He didn't reach for the bombs, he had to negotiate, him and Lukashenko were left with little other choice. Goes to show they can do it again when they have to.

What a joke. They are pre parring for a war instigated by the US. I dated a girl from the old Soviet Union when I was in college in the 90's. She said that during her childhood they were convinced the US was going to initiate a first strike and who would blame them ? The US and NATO had so much weaponry just miles away from their borders and because of Manifest Destiny, The Soviets could do nothing anywhere near US or NATO bases outside of Europe. They always backed down and always will ... Turkey shot down Russian fighters and Russia did nothing .. Russia is the rust bucket everyone thought they had overcome and will never get the upper hand against the US. It's been the US foreign security doctrine since Pearl Harbor. Globalization has become too complex for there to be another world war. Everyone seems to forget that India is the Superpower in Asia and China's main adversary.

Please read Putun's Manifestos dating as far back the 80's... clearly stating He going to reabsorb Ukraine, Poland and Moldova, 3 Countries that were part of the USSR prior to WW2. His exact words...return them to the "Motherland." Chilling. Also in 1994 Cinton over saw an Agreement that Ukraine would not develope Nuclear Weapons if Russia agreed to never attack Ukraine...and if they did attack.. the USA would come to their defense.
