I really enjoyed this movie but when I got to the end and everything was starting to come unglued and the little girl was so happy at finally being able to see that Friends episode, that it struck me. This is exactly what is going down right now. The world is being led to the edge of a giant takeover and people don't care. All they're worried about is being able to binge-watch their favorite show. Scary!

The first half of the movie is a delight. Thoughtful dialogue, great camerawork, smart writing to create tension, and a sense of being left in the dark creates a very entertaining 60 minutes of film. The second half of the film collapses under the excellence of the first. The writers were quite unique and clever in writing their first half, their pool of witfullness and creative ran dry trying to write the second

I disagree; the first half was a very clever and cleanly crafted set up for the second half where the reality of the situation finally comes crashing down on all of the characters. This will not pass. This is not negligible. This is world ending catastrophe. And the ending was a beautiful bow on top. An insignificant moment is recalled and used. Lovely!

Like many similar movies, it builds up intrigue that hooks you, but then gets repetitive and the movie isn’t sure how to end itself. It gives some explanation which actually doesn’t make too much realistic sense but at least it was some ending and not a cop out with no discernible ending.

I saw this movie yesterday and it's good. There has been mention of attacks on America in different ways. As a country, we are so vulnerable right now. Especially with these borders. This movie is worth watching. It has you viewing things differently. Start preparing for the worst-case scenario gradually.

@@nub-cake Mr. Robot is his magnum opus but Comet is a fantastic movie. The first season of Homecoming which was awesome and heck, the 2nd season was very underrated IMO even though he wasn’t involved with it anymore. Briarpatch with Rosario Dawson was decent, he served as executive producer. They canceled it after one season eventually which I wasn’t surprised about but it’s worth giving a shot.

The implication was that it was rogue forces in our own military and government: the EAS broadcast mentions that the US is at war with rogue armed forces. It's based off of a book which, as far as I can tell, doesn't give ANY answers as to the source of the problem.

when will ppl realize that if they focus and feel that a scenario like this will happen then chances are it will happen. "they" are not planning anything, all "they" need to do is give us a narrative and a vision and we will create it with our fear and feelings of it coming to life 🙄 it's so irritating and annoying that we still don't get this on a grand scale

Though I do beg to differ in that it's not purely American culture, it's worldwide, and it's understandable that people feel the need to escape. The world is a complete mess right now. In fact, I don't even think this is a recent thing. People have always been enamoured by some form of escapism, even and especially during world wars.

I checked out the trailer for Julia Roberts, and was extremely pleased to see Ethan Hawk. And then I went like "is that Kevin Bacon"? I m soooo happy when I confirmed that towards the end of the trailer. I never knew about this movie before, but i m definitely watching it in December. The cast is dynamite and there is enough mystery shown in the trailer to arouse my curiosity.
