The NBA had to reschedule two days worth of games due to the stoppage of play. On the first day the teams voted on whether to continue the bubble or not. 2 Teams voted to leave the bubble. Those teams were the Lakers and Clippers. Although the Lakers and Clippers are only 2 of the teams they hold a lot of influence due to LeBron James, Kawhi Leonard, Anthony Davis, Paul George, and Doc Rivers. Even the day after players like CP3 and LeBron were leading the meetings but were getting great pushback from the younger players. The younger players wanted to continue the bubble the whole time. The only reason they needed to hear from Obama was that LeBron, CP3, and the old head leadership weren't convinced. Once upon a time CP3, LeBron, and co voted on CBA changes that benefitted older players which CP3 and LeBron capitalized on. They have never really cared about how the mid-tier and below players would manage. Of course, superstars would be fine if the bubble ended but those mid-tier players or players on their first contracts would struggle. Obama only said what a majority of the other players already decided. It is sad LeBron and CP3 are getting so much credit for the good decision when they were the last ones to be convinced. I won't bash CP3 completely. CP3 helped create the concept of the bubble. He did many great things for the players before and during the bubble. He just makes sure his best interests are always covered as well.
