C2PA is a Joint Development Foundation project which has built a system to provide provenance and history for digital media, providing a tool for creators to claim authorship while empowering consumers to make informed decisions about what to trust. It focuses on tackling misinformation and disinformation by defining a model for storing and accessing cryptographically verifiable information whose trustworthiness can be assessed based on a defined trust model.
