Kayla don’t feel bad about the lack of clutter! This is a good house and as a someone who’s a gameplayer, not a builder, I usually download houses from the gallery and delete at least 1/3 of the clutter and landscaping bc it clips or it gets in the way (trees, lots of mirrors and paintings bc they don’t disappear in cutaway mode, etc). There’s lots of different kinds of simmers and personally I like houses that have just enough clutter that suggests the personalities of the family that lives there, but not so much that you can’t see the house for the decorations. Overall this house is pretty cute and I would download it and probably just change a few color swatches and scoot a few things and that’s it.

I can’t even imagine building without cc and mods…. LET ALONE CHEATS.😂

It's always entertaining to me to see builders try to not use cheats, since I never use cheats in my builds. 😆

I find how you build so interesting because I’ve never build a shell and then tried to make a floor plan. I’ve always started by making the floor plan and then adjust if the outside shape is too weird. It had never occurred to me to do it any differently before I saw your videos.

I mostly build with Move objects off- but then I turn it on to scoot landscaping slightly closer, or scoot decor objects closer together or placing windows near walls, but generally anything I place does place without MOO - it limits routing issues. But I ALWAYS use alt placement.

When I learned about build cheats it changed my world. 😂 I thought you couldn’t size up or down and alt place in a no cheat. I was watching another UKpostsr do a no cheat build but they were doing them.

idk how lilsimsie does it cuz every build that I made in the sims without cheats looked so showroomy and this build actually looks lived in

This is one of the most realistic houses lilsimsie has ever built, on the outside at least. And it’s still really pretty

You should look at floor plans for this style of house for inspiration, too, when you're building. You'd be surprised at how they did it back then!!

I'll be honest Kayla, I don't mind you using blue and beige at all, but I do mind you putting an easel in every single build. There are so many hobby items in this game, and at this rate I always actively avoid making my sims artists cause that's such quick and easy money it breaks the game 😅

The outside of the house I grew up in was very similar to this, and we did not have any shutters on our windows in the back. I think you could have easily gotten away with not having them on your build. Anyway, thanks for another entertaining video. I always look forward to them.

Ahhhh I’m so glad you did this video! I play on my ps4 and can never create such perfect builds without these cheats so I’m glad to see something more within the confines that I also have to deal with😅

note: you can only alt rotate with the sims 3 camera, sadly the sims 4 cam doesn't have that function. but the sims 4 cam is all i know, so using the sims 3 cam is soooo confusing to me

The alt-placing makes everyday use items clip with other things and walls frequently in creations of the gallery, I imagine that's why they don't use in the original game builds. I build without cheats and it needs to have more space, like bigger houses, spaces between doors and plants... You just have to get used to considering the space beforehand, I'm sure it's possible to build one that you love

i love the reference pic you chose! we had some houses like that owned by rich families in my hometown and to me that style of house will always communicate “we give king size candy bars out on halloween.” me and my friends were known to switch costumes and hit those houses again 😂

Kayla should try to recreate one of the promo pictures from a kit! You know how they always have pictures of rooms that she always breaks down with "That item is new and that item is new! I think that item is new! Look at that new swatch!" Are those all made with the no cheats rules as well? Because some of those promos, like the plants one and the books one, were really cluttered and packed!

you could have used platforms to rise or sink the entryway to make it look more formal :-)

I barely learned about cheats this year just because I accidentally stumbled on Sim UKpostsrs. Before then I hated building and my houses were literally so bad. Now they’re okay and I can spend 5 hours just building the perfect house for my perfectly curated family for their perfect lil storyline that I need to act out in the game. It’s great, your videos feel like those baby stim ones with the animation of the vegetables dancing around the black screen.

No one told Kay that once the window/door it's deleted by the wall you can put them back in? Generally without problem

Can you do a video doing a build explaining what cheats you use to place things in certain spots? I almost never use build cheats, usually just moveobjects & alt placing, but I’m so curious how you do your builds & which cheats you use & how. Long time subscriber, love the video 😂💕

I usually play casually so I don't do move objects, but I do use alt placing -- I'd love to see you do one challenge semi "in the middle" of no cheats vs. all cheats by using alt placing or something but still no move objects. :)

Thanks for the tip with the alt place stuff because I NEVER know that and all of my builds looked so boring

You built some houses in Snowy Escape, right? Did you have to avoid all cheats in that too? I would think so right, because not everybody uses cheats and it has to work for everyone. Were those just as difficult to build?

I honestly never liked building until I started watching your videos, and I’m of the Sims 2 days!! Anywho, I have been building and decorating because of inspiration from your videos. All this to say that I can’t not use cheats in either build mode or live mode 😂😂😂

Before I started watching you and learned about debug and size changing, ALL my front yards were square hedges. Flowers? No. Trees? No. ONLY HEDGES!

I can appreciate that Simsie sticks to her game rules. One of the things I hate is when the thumbnail or intro to a video says the creator is going to do one thing and then they immediately break their own rules! Just don't make the video or tell people that u're just gonna be doing whatever u want with whatever rules or lack thereof u want. Whew! Thanks for letting me get that off my chest. I feel much better now 😊.

maybe to make up for the lack of build cheats in this build, you could do a video using the same house where you clutter it to your hearts content. i still think it’s a pretty build tho!!

As a console player, having to do this every time we build sucks. Especially since they messed up our b&b so now it’s so hard to use anyway. All I want is move objects lmao

I have an idea for a sims 4 house. You can watch some videos of people going into abandoned houses and then make the sims house from the house on the video. I like watching urban exploring with kappy he goes into old abandoned houses and walks around showing every room in the house that are safe some houses have some rooms that are too dangerous to go in and some houses are actually fully furnished but no one lives there it’s really cool.

This is exactly how I felt trying to play the sims for the first time 😭 I was like “are you kidding me? Why doesn’t this fit??! Why is the game like this!!”

Where you wanted to make the entrance, and the walls delete the door, sometimes it works if you add the walls then the door and it works but it’s not always 😅

I really like no cheat build. I found it run smoothly for my gameplay.

For those who are confused, (I was for a long time) if you play on Mac, you have to press fn AND f5 to do the quarter-tile placement thing. I don’t know why it’s different, but for anyone who was confused, that’s how you do it on Mac.

The thing is that you probably can add the door or windows that the wall deletes after you place it. It's not that you simply CAN'T place them there but rather the wall delets them, so I think you overcomplicated it unnecessarily. Next time just place the walls and then add the deleted doors and windows again, you'll see that it'll allow you to add most of them again and it'll save you some of the stress. That's why a non cheats builder would do normally place walls first then doors and windows.

next time no 45 degrees rotation because that's how we had to build in the sims 2 if we didn't use a really long cheatcode which I could never remember correctly

16:46 very EASE-ly also you should try to redecorate a pre-made/pre-built house without changing the size or shape or the room btw if you click on a cabinet and click the cog you can change the shape of the cabinet to corner pieces and etc

I apologize because I know that had to be really difficult but it was really entertaining to watch lol Also, when the entrances are weird like that, I put an entry table, like a round one with flowers or something just to break it up a bit
