We discovered at the 21 week ultrasound that our baby had a severe skeletal dysplasia, with a small rib cage and lungs and would not be able to breathe after birth. My wife had an abortion at 24 weeks. It took 3 weeks to get on the schedule even in a liberal state prior to this SC ruling. Ironically the impediments to abortion will only make them happen later. The abortion was not carried out lightly - it had to be approved by the hospitals ethics committee and all clinicians involved in the procedure had to agree to do it. We don’t need new laws restricting healthcare. Abortions later in pregnancy occur only for very dire reasons.

State laws can be more strict than federal laws!! Don't be fooled - heartbeat bills will still be ok since they are stricter at 6 weeks than a 15 week federal law. Abortion was not a federal law in the US code (codified) so they deferred to the Supreme court ruling until it was overturned
