Grew up in an iron-strict household, and this album was the first I bought with my own money, in secret. Blasting it when no one was home was cathartic - hearing LP fill every room with all the things I wish I could say, putting into words all the frustrations fears and guilt that I was too young to process without help. People used to say this music ruined kids, but the fact is I don't know what I would've done without them. This album helped me reclaim myself. Thank you, Linkin Park.

Chester... The name, the voice, the scream... A musical icon of many, the hit of late 90s and early 2000s. Not without a reason. Everyone has their story with Linkin Park, different reasons they're listening to them... My story? When I first started going to school, Numb was blasted all over the radio... Time has passed, I spent time mostly without music, being serious in everything... But the pressure can go only so far... One day, when I went to work, I experienced severe burnout. I had no way to filter all of this, I wanted to scream, I wanted to cry... But I was unable to... Then, one day, I heard Numb again. This time, I have paid attention to lyrics... To the music... To the raw emotion Chester put into his song... I went here, and played the whole album. I felt relief like nothing I have ever felt... Chester... Is not just a musician. He is a therapist. Singing his emotions, traumas, frustrations out for us... To relate... To make us feel we're not alone... To cope better... And for that... Will Chester be always immortalized

Same man, but with college. "Don't stay" really helped me cope with this chick who knew I was attracted to her, had rejected me in a brutal fashion, and came round every once in a while to rub in the fact that she was never going to be with me. I'll never forget the words she said to me: "You know nothing about women. You are never going to date. At best, you'll be lucky to find someone who will settle for you and marry you without ever dating you." At the time, it hit hard and I contemplated suicide for a few weeks. Luckily, I got some help from a buddy and put a lot of effort into going out and meeting more women. It took like four to six months to get anywhere, but I eventually lined up several dates. I had my first kiss with a woman a little less than a year later.

It's been 20 years of this masterpiece today. This album got me through so much of my life. I listened to "Somewhere I belong" over 300 times in my final week of highschool. "Faint" was an anthem I never understood, until I experienced it for myself, and the song spoke even more to me in my 20's. Numb, I don't think I need to describe how that song not only saved me, but countless others. Every track, every motif, down to the note.. amazing. Easily one of the best Nu Metal Albums of all time. Even after 2 decades, Both Meteora and Hybrid Theory remains relevant and one of the greatest nu-metal albums of all time. I love how these two albums isnt just about the screaming from Bennington - but the lyrics, the expression really tackles real life issues of depression, suicide, excitement, thrill and all sorts of emotions that runs through the mind. Even though I think Hybrid Theory is a better album, Meteora really is special for me. I was 15 in 2003, High School wasn't easy and it was very hard for me to fit in, my father had also been diagnosed with cancer, he didn't make it untill January the next year. Meteora is an album that carried me through my most formative years as well as through some of my toughest times. I was very close to becoming an opioid addict at the time, and if it wasn't for me comtemplating my angst through the music of this album, I might have fallen to temptation of seriously hard drugs. the 2000s were not an easy decade for teenagers, watching your relatives go to war, seeing the economy crumbling and school becoming more stressful and condensed than ever before. Linkin Park was special for so many of us early to mid Millennials because out of all the gawdy pop of the era- Linkin Park felt raw and angry and truthful to how so many of us felt through that decade.

27. Saw them touring this album with Shinedown, Finger Eleven, and fucking Slipknot. Great show. Was too small for the pit, but I had a great time. The last good memory I have of that time. Man, that was a good show. Had this album basically on repeat for years. Fell out of LP around the time of A Thousand Suns. Or maybe Minutes to Midnight. I forget. I had A Thousand Suns on CD, but didn't listen to Minutes much, so I'm not sure which came first. It's been some time and I've moved on to heavier and more technical things, but I still come back to their early albums every so often and...I dunno. It doesn't scratch my every itch, but damn if it ain't cathartic on some level. It feels like home, ya know? A family reunion for the ear holes. Here's to doing better. Cheers, fuckos.

Meteroa came out just when I needed it in high school. I was struggling with depression and suicidal thoughts. "Somewhere I belong" and "Numb" saved me, it saddens me that it couldn't save Chester too.

I started un music with this álbum, when I was. Little kid so I thought it was normal that official albums did that, and as I grew up I realized almost anyone did that, so I guess ir speaks a lot about how much work and love they put in the making of this album

It was the year 2000 and I was in 7th grade. I was the kid with a shaved head except the bangs which Id slicked down into 3 spikes and dyed blue with walgreens temporary dye that me and my friends would share. We all had skateboards and spent time playing thps on ps1, jumping stairs, and had our own WWF backyard wrestling league where we'd go into different neighborhoods and challenge eachother to wrestling matches where powerbombs on the grass were a normal thing. I'd bring my battery hog of a sony stereo and my cd case which was filled with Korn, Limp Bizkit, Slipknot, Mudvayne, Metallica, and Fear Factory... My song that I'd come out to was Linkin Parks - Forfeit The Game. That same year I got my first guitar and obsessed over learning everything I could from these bands. But I remember when Hybrid Theory came out and the dilapidated mall which had a music store called The Exclusive Company where I bought it and the clerk had questioned my age which I lied of course so I could get those parental advisory cd's. I brought it home which I never had a parent around and listened to Hybrid Theory from beginning to end as loud as i could. Eventually learning how to wire up speakers so I could blast my tunes as loud as possible. Linkin Park was a state of mind.

There's a sullen guilt I feel listening back to this now in my 30s. Hybrid and Meteora helped me get through so many dark parts of my childhood and early teens, those two albums were everything to me at one point when my family and life was a battle field. But only realising the distress and sheer pain Chester was projecting the entire time, and only truly understanding it now that he's gone and that I've experienced enough to recognise his desperation. RIP you god damn warrior. I hope its less painful where you are than down here.
