@aimeefriedman822 ... I have no love of John Pryor (he appears to be a sexist jerk who was himself taken to court for sexual harassment), but to be fair, he did not ask to be taken off the case. Pryor specifically requested that he be allowed to stay on Chad's case, but as the secondary representative in a two-lawyer team. This was for two reasons, the most important being Pryor's lack of qualification: he claims he cannot effectively represent any client in a death-penalty case, since he lacks the usual experience lawyers typically have before participating in death-penalty cases. He wants the state to choose a "death-penalty certificated" lawyer to take over as the primary representative in Chad's case. However, there is a limited pool of state defenders qualified for such cases, and none of them are available. Therefore, the judge made the executive decision that Pryor, in light of his history of being Chad's legal representative since the start of his shenanigans, would have to remain Chad's primary and sole defender. In other words, Pryor was told to "simply do his best." The second reason Pryor asked to withdraw was a financial one: Chad could no longer afford to pay for his legal defense, and I certainly can't blame Pryor for wanting to be paid. I don't know how the law works in such situations, but Chad's lack of funds was apparently an insufficient reason to replace Pryor, so I guess judges can "force" lawyers to represent a client if a better alternative is lacking or would be actively detrimental to the accused's defense. I assume Pryor is instead being paid by the state, but I don't know for sure.

Her testimony is not at all the way she was acting and speaking prior to Chads trial!!
