Watching from Europe, it's baffling to witness the fervent loyalty to Trump's MAGA movement. I’d say there's a deep need for substantial educational reforms in the US to combat the misinformation and polarization fueling this phenomenon. Education is key to fostering critical thinking and societal progress. Hoping this will start happening in January 2025. 🤞🍀

Agree 100%. One big problem in our system is students are required to take state mandated exams in order to measure progress. Multiple choice exams. The ability to think critically about a problem that may have complicated answers isn’t focused on because that is harder to measure on a standardized test. It’s called teaching to the test. Teachers hate it. It’s not good for learners.

Republicans have been dismantling and defunding education for 40 years, because an ignorant electorate benefits them. Additionally, the capitalist hellscape we find ourselves in creates deeply emotionally disturbed individuals. Kids are born into isolation, both parents have to work multiple jobs, can't afford basics, everyone too exhausted to form meaningful friendships/ communities. You end up with ignorant and angry people who gravitate toward a trump. It's not going to change or be fixed, since that would undermine the very wealthy in charge.

This trial may not amount to much, but it is delicious to know Trump must shuffle into that dingy court room and sit there for many hours, listening to things he hates but can’t complain about. If he speaks he is told to shut up. If he leaves he is arrested. If he misbehaves outside court he might be jailed. This is all worth it.

I was just following the current "Absolute Presidential Immunity" saga in the Supreme Court that ended a couple of minutes ago. Based on what they said and the questions they asked, there is "No Way in Hell," Trump is going to win that one.

As Glenn Kirschner has said, if Merchan finds Trump in contempt then that means he's violated his release conditions in his other criminal trails. Lets hope those other judges keep their promises about the consequences of those agreements!
