The UN membership is an attempt to protect hamas from consquences from oct 7th and continued hostile acts that will be carried by them in the future. The goal is to be able to launch attacks then flee back into gaza whenever they want. The UN membership wouldn't actually mean anything even if it passed for the same reason the UN resolution for ceasefire passed weeks ago but the key players abstained. The US, UK and Germany have the biggest pull in the UN. The other countries have little to even enforce anything. This always comes back to who's actually the strongest and who isn't afraid to be militarily involved. The US is ready to defend Israel and everyone knows it.
