Excellent point. Michoacan is my state I used to go visit every year growing up. It was so different back then, paradise. Never thought or knew it had become a living nightmare for the locals. With all the migrants coming over, I was under the impression that people were crossing simply to have a better future, aka, illegal crossings. That's what the news covers, but boy was I wrong. There’s lots of documentaries like this on the internet (about Mexico and the cartels). So it’s no secret what things are like there (from a government perspective). If you’re going to ‘disappear’, it’s going to happen whilst you’re actually in Mexico making the documentary. And then it’s usually because by kidnapping you, people can demand a ransom. This documentary was made a while ago so safe to say that nothing bad happened.
