Many people with William’s have high emotional intelligence. My daughter Andrea has William’s and she can connect with others so well. Andrea can tell when someone is sad or anxious and tries to reach out to help. She is so kind and people love her immediately. Many William’s kids are. I’m thankful each and every day that God has entrusted me to care for her. She is a blessing to everyone that knows and loves her! Sophia is extremely articulate and expresses herself so well. Wow. You've become such a stunningly beautiful, emotionally intelligent, and articulate young woman. I struggled with social anxiety, ADHD, OCD and depression most of my life, that was until I started daily yoga and meditation in my 50s. I rarely have an episode now. I hope you learn what works for you to tame it, too. I know you will. It helps to learn to love yourself, and then it no longer matters what others think of you. You must be your own warrior and #1 fan. This channel shows just how many others you have, too. Wishing you love and light always, beautiful soul.

So you can still have a way to learn love even if your whole family abused you ever since you were born. And now they don't because I escaped and disowned them. But I wonder what it's like to experience love in a relationship you're in with a live group of people that is like a family rather than reading about it in a book or seeing it played out on a screen?

@@daniburke9452 yeah, I was under the impression Williams Syndrome was a 24/7 oxytocin rush, and that they were literally the epitome of love and happiness. Sophia - you are everything that is right with planet earth. You are incredibly emotionally intelligent and articulate, and as you grow older, I know others will start to really see you for the unique and truly incredibly eloquent and caring and beautiful girl that you are. Some kids your age not have the emotional intelligence themselves yet to really see other people - many adults I know haven't even attained the level of self awareness you seem to possess! You are an incredible and unique addition to this world, and I know that the older you get, the more people you will meet who will see what we all see in this interview. Any human on the planet would be incredibly lucky to have a friend like you. You are so genuine and caring and remarkably bright. Thank you for sharing your story! Keep shining sweet girl ❤

She is EXTREMELY well spoken. You can just tell that she's such a genuine person. And she honestly seems like she'd be such a fun person to be around, so I don't know why anyone wouldn't want to be friends with her. She seems like she'd have some REALLY good conversation. Probably laugh a lot and she's got great taste in music. Sophia, I'd be your friend. Honest to God. And my 17 year old daughter said she'd be your friend too. We'd invite you over to hang out or go to the mall or a Taylor Swift concert. I bet we'd have a blast! The people that don't want to be your friend aren't deserving enough to have a friend as cool as you!! And the people that are only kind to you because you're disabled, I bet they'd change their minds if they spent more time with you. I don't even like saying "disabled", I'd rather say "differently-abled". But, anyhooziewoozen (did that word make you laugh? 😂) You're such a kind, funny, spunky, genuine person and literally ANYONE would be lucky to call you a true friend!♡♡♡

I was also in Special Ed. some of my classes were considered 15:1 and some were regular classes with my peers. I still felt somewhat isolated in the regular classes cuz most of my peers wouldn't talk to me or want to be my friend. only time they had to talk to me was if we were doing group work. my senior year, my English class (15:1) was combined with a regular class. I enjoyed it and felt the other students were finally accepting of me. I wish I could go back to that age again to be Sofia's friend. growing up I had issues with social cues. I was also not seen as an equal in the classroom by a lot of my peers. idk why. but I definitely wanted a friend like Sofia. someone who is nice, friendly, respectful, and non-judgmental.

I was in special ed classes too and I felt isolated because my mainstream friends would talk about their teachers and I was just like “oh, okay” and not really be in the conversation 😔 I was in it for math up to 8th grade and english until I graduated from high school. My mom asked them numerous times about moving me to all mainstream but they said no 🤥 idk why but whatever lol it doesn’t matter now at all I recently graduated from nursing school in May 2021 and now I’m working as a RN :) it does not matter that you were special ed, you just have to work hard and know what you want in life ♥️

I’m not long away from turning 23, but I still heavily relate to you, Sofia. I only saw your video today and everything you said about your social anxiety and about your experience with bullying really resonated with me, as an autistic and ADHD individual. I also have trouble trusting people’s true intentions and natures even when I’m around them, because others have let me down so many times, and the negative words and thoughts from bullying in the past are still stuck so firmly in my mind - like permanent marker on a whiteboard. It is really hard to make genuine, deep and meaningful connections when you have to work twice as hard as most people, even if they’ve had similar experiences or diagnoses as you, everyone is so different and complicated, and it can be so frustrating sometimes, like why do we even bother anyway. But the joy and security and love I feel with the network of true friends I found a few years ago… I don’t know if I would say that makes ALL of it worth it, but it certainly makes up for a LOT of the pain and damage from the past. You haven’t been dealt the best cards in life, but you’ve struck gold with how supportive your biological family unit is - and I know how well you know that l, because of how insightful, self-reflective and emotionally intelligent you are. Oftentimes I feel like it’s especially hard to make real friends with people our age in this time in life, because they’re all still at varying levels of maturity, and in various ways. I am really glad I got to meet you through this video though, even though this is the you from 2 years ago at this point! It’s great to see there are other people out there who are as genuine and compassionate and empathetic as you are. You’re the kind of person I’d want as a friend too. Thanks so much for being brave enough to come on here and share your experiences, your world, and your insights. I get so nervous on camera as it is, let alone opening up to strangers on camera! It’s really amazing, and you’re awesome. Please keep being you and being real. Love from a 23yo AuDHD student in Australia 🇦🇺 ❤️
