This reminds me how i destroyed my Childhood and teenage life.. i never explored during my childhood i only go to school and go straight at home..never had parties never been to a fun relationships....ive been a goody two shoes.. i always followed my parents commands...now im nearing the age of parenthood...ive never been happy even with this mini successes in life...So for you young ones... its ok to be good child but always lend time for your happiness even it may cause you some hardships...in the end you felt those happiness that you can never experience again in adulthood...

That little breath on the last second of the song, edited at the same time James kisses Alyssa back literally makes this edit Oscar worthy. I can't even explain how that little thing can bring such vividness to every feeling in the song and show.

It feels so strange to listen to this song. My dear friend died a month ago, after a long fight with depression and schizophrenia and I remembered that I was following his account on a site that showed what we would listen to recently. I sadly discovered that not so long before he took his life, he listened to this Lorde album and this song was the last one the site would record he listened. It will never be the same.

Just like Alyssa did for James...this show made me FEEL. I’ve been so numb for so long and all the sudden here’s two people just as broken as me and it was beautiful. I don’t feel so alone because it’s okay. It’s all okay. And this edit brought me to tears. It’s exquisite.

i hate to be /that/ person, but, wow, this song truly resonates with me. to say that every song on Melodrama is a masterpiece is such an understatement; it’s just something about every song on the album that provokes a certain emotion upon the listener (or in my case, an influx of emotions). in “Hard Feelings,” she does a perfect job at describing the sentiments one feels after heartbreak - a devastating experience most of her audience members have experienced before. yeah, being in love is hard. & yeah, breakups are hard, hence the title of the song. but for some reason, this song alleviates the bitter sentiments i still have left of in my heart. it is such an honor to be alive around the same time as Lorde. i am so so so so grateful for her music. even more so, Ella has written the soundtrack to not only my youth, but also the soundtrack to the youths of hundreds of thousands of people. she really did that.
