Two great singers - I like both versions. I'm sure she "hid from the spotlight" not because she was "more comfortable" doing so but because of contractual limitations arising out of her contract work in the movie.. Either those limitations expired or they were later renegotiated so that now she can reveal that she was the singer in the movie.

She didn’t hide at all. She did the Voice 10 years ago and released music including a duet with Michael Bublé. She needed attention again I guess.

She can compare to two other singers, concerning her singing style, which obviously is not pop or soul music. Celine Dion and Barbra Streisand. Maybe the two are a little superior to her, but not that much. Only a little bit. This means that she is in third place among the best singers ever.
