You can really see both Xu Xin and Ma Long are not at their best physically. Xu Xin is quite thinner than he was at the start of the first COVID confinement. He still was able to get to semis but ML and FZD are better physically, especially FZD who is crushing everyone. Xu Xin needs to recover his previous physical level if he wants to be as consistent as his two partners. I think Xu Xin has an edge in technique and creativity in his play, and he has really improved his backhand. He generally lacks consistency, though you can tell his 2019 year was awesome because he was physically stronger. FZD wil win the finals, he´s way to strong now.

ML has again successfully eliminated XX's flare of creativity and passion of the match, of which ML is dead enemy of XX of his entire career. The record shows and proves it. XX is such a creative and entertaining player who wins huge respect and admire from TT fans of the world. Whereas ML is an effective fighting machine accurate and efficient, it seems that only injury and aging can stop him from winning. He is deemed to kill all balls no matter where they come from. However this match shows that ML is actually declining due to physical fitness and aging. His previous match against Harimoto and Faluck have showed strong signs of losing agility however his ability of reading the match and experiences assisted his win along with changing tactics. I would like to say that XX's style is precious in many aspects of TT agenda and he is born for winning over audiences by his excellent creativity and performance in the match. Only regret is that he is not as ambitious and decisive as ML. What a regret, I love to watch his games. ML is definitely facing strong challenge from FZD, another killing machine but younger and more agile. At end of the day, both ML and XX will retire and hopefully we could see there will be a new generation player who can succeed XX's style and contribute to TT world.

I like both of these guys, because they don't screaming when they won or from strong shots

Xu Xin is on the right track with that better backhand. If he can put it all together, he can beat anybody. I wouldn't be surprised if he wins a WTTC or the Olympics, before its all said and done.

Eight months without matches, Xu Xin can't keep himself in a tense competitive condition. I think Xu Xin just need more time and participating more matches, the cloud walker will return.

ML can definitely beat FZD in this sorta form, but what concerned me was that ML seemed to have some soreness with his right arm at the end of the 4th game. I hope that will not affect him in the final match.

I so much want XuXin to win. He beaten Ma Long this year at German Open 4-0 ! Also beaten Fan Zhendong before with spectacular play. Just so unfavourable for Xu Xin at 2nd and 3rd set, he could have got 3-0 lead, both sets he just lost 3 points in a row when he got to 9-8 that is so sad. Other times Xu Xin has so many errors from the backhand, so Ma Long keep attacking that side.
