It's like when a movie has a running joke / side plot about the coolest, most mystical thing ever, and how some people have seen it but the main character never gets to. And then eventually it shows up only to disappear again, and the MC is treated with the same disbelief he once expressed - except it's for real. Oh yeah, kind of like in Tenacious D with the best song of all time.

It's like part of a larger OST of life.

what black metal do you like?

@@000MidnightSunrecently I've been into more avant-garde black metal that fuses with other genres, and might not even be considered black metal at all by purists. I've been enjoying White Ward a lot, with their jazzy interludes spicing things up from the usual blastbeats and aeolian melodies. I've also been leaning into the more technical death metal/black metal crossover bands like imperial triumphant, who also throw a lot of jazz stuff in there, which makes sense why I was so drawn to barber beats. Also listening to some more obscure bands like Acausal Intrusion, Bekor Qilish, and a few others. Highly recommend "black metal promotion" and "odium nostrum" as UKposts channels to find more of the obscure stuff, they do a great job at plucking interesting bands straight out of the void.

@@000MidnightSun how could I forget AKHLYS is a band that really caught my attention too. Highly recommended. There's gonna be a million other bands I remember at later times, I just plucked a few off my commute playlist.
