This was sad especially finding out it was him but also because I have many friends that have committed suicide, my son committed suicide which still is the greatest pain I bear to this day. For all these people I have an equal amount of people who have attempted suicide. I have mental health problems and you see the best and most difficult times of others as you struggle yourself especially as my treatment involves regular hospital stays every 3 months. It is tragic and I hope people do see this and seek help but the saddest thing, like my son, is that they don’t share with others afraid of what they will think or they have tried so many times that eventually, despite the help of others, they are successful like my son. I have had to learn that this was not my fault because I had so much guilt over what I could or should have done to help him so this didn’t happen, but in reality nothing I said or did could of helped when his mind was set but I know he is at peace now. The good to come of this is I try not to be afraid to say I have mental health problems I’m dealing with and that is ok it doesn’t mean I’m any less of a person than the one standing beside me. I try and keep in contact with my friends that also have mental health problems because sometimes that one message or one phone call can be enough to make them realise they still mean something to someone. I look for early warning signs in my friends and help them get help before it is too late. I am there for my family and friends because being a person that listens to another or pops in for a chat etc. can make people feel less alone and help them feel wanted and cared about. You never know who, in your circle of friends and family is struggling because masking mental illness is what we are good at. So keep your friends and family close, don’t say I should get in contact with, I haven’t heard from…in a while etc. I t can take less than 5 minutes to check on a friend or loved one, less time than most people spend on social media. So put aside a bit of time each day to call or message someone, without knowing you could be the difference that it takes to stop something like my son’s death from happening. And, if you are reading this and need help please don’t be ashamed to reach out, lots of people have mental health issues….you are not alone and don’t need to fight this battle alone. You are beautiful, worthy, and loved, and you just need to pick up a phone or go on line to message someone like life line, or ring someone you trust and say I’m not doing well. Please believe me when I say your life is important and there are people who care and can help you, there is no shame in asking.

No problems Mike. I appreciate talent but more than that I totally appreciate people who feel the life going all around him and you know as I know that NO ONE should feel that they should need to be taking their life because they feel that they cannot talk to someone. I know that here in Canada mental health id a big problem because it is under funded and sadly mental health is sadly still a stigma . I suffered for years just as my mother did. I finally connected with a great doctor and through medication ( and only one med) I found the ground beneath my feet. Because I was open with my oldest girl in her 40's she knew she had the "gift" as we jokingly call it and she went and got help because she too had a great doctor for 20 years. The only thing that really makes me sad is that a very a very close friend of mine (who was almost a "twin" mentally wise went to a new doctor who saw all the meds she was one and decided he had to clean out her system so stopped all her meds. Now I would not feel such anger towards him if he had put here in the hospital for this process. The result was that within a week she committed suicide .I lived on the west coast of Canada then but had moved back to the east coast. She had another very god friend out west but I do not thinks she understood what was going on with Sandra and did not realize what Sandra's a shock Sandra's system must have been in after almost 20 years of medications were gone. That I think was why your performance had such an impact and I again thank you so much Mike.
