My goal and intention of this performance was to uplift and inspire. The audience at hand (700+) and the hundreds of thousands of views, as well as the personal feedback I've gotten, tell me I've succeeded in this goal. Thanks for watching, there's much more to come. This was an incredible performance. I always admire Magicians when they do a routine knowing full well they are going to be recorded. It really takes a lot of heart to put your craft out there like that for everyone to dissect afterwards. The haters who burn his moves and call his handling sloppy, still have no clue as to how any of the effects he performed work, but they feel so accomplished because they spotted a "secret" move. Worse yet are the dimwits commenting on his physical shape, like they have anything to do with the amazing skill that was displayed. What I admire most about this performance is the way he weaved all of the effects together into one complete story. I liked his patter with the volunteers, and you can tell by the smiles on their faces that they enjoyed the performance as well, contrary to what the perpetually offended snowflakes in the comments might say. My hat is off to you Chris! Well done!

I've done a TEDx event before. It's a little intimidating due to a clock staring you in the face, and it's not a typical performance that people are expecting. People come to these expecting to be enlightened or educated. Then you add the element of knowing it's going to be put online for the world to see, whether you approve or not. I don't read the comments on mine, because I know a lot of jealous, immature pricks are going to leave insults because it make them feel superior in their own little world. So, although I may not know him on a personal level...as a magician, and mentalist that performs in the same circles as Hannibal, I can honestly say this was a great and entertaining performance.
@UncleEarl97
@UncleEarl97 3 роки тому
Well said. What people need to remember about this kind of performance it was entertainment and he was charismatic as well. You make a number of points that help others to understand how intimidating TEDx events can be coupled with "idiots" who try to pick things apart to make themselves feel good and try to make the performer feel greatly under appreciated. Thanks for your insight.

He is a gifted man who uses a talent he has worked hard for years to bring people s little slice of happiness. There may be better things to do with your time other than trolling. Trolling says more about the person throughinv hate than the person it's focused on. Hannibal keep making people smile, I would worry about the people who struggle so much on the inside they feel the need to hurt others. It's simply a waste of time.

This led hannibal to say "Well kid, you blew it" (Source:poop joke google search) From that day on he vowed vengeance on the vile fiend who's hyperbolic sense of humor destroyed his social life. He has the variables in his own show nailed to almost perfection. He knows exactly how to shuffle the cards around to make his tricks work. He does that flawlessly, at times he just counts wrong in even the close ranges of 10. If he can't make those counts correctly, and then considering how counting cards in blackjack is a whole different art and playing-field altogether, I imagine he won't fare too well there. Unless he truly can produce magic, I doubt he would make much money on blackjack -- even the best card-counters are reduced to chance bets a lot of the time. That's my guess anyway, but I'd be fascinated to know if and how I'm wrong on this! :-D

The moment to moment control over attention of magic is brilliant. Anyone who has seen the ___________ bit at a Penn & Teller show in person has probably lost it. _Edit: I'm a magic fan and I never knew of this bit until seeing Penn & Teller in person, so I've removed the act, it's something to experience in person._ 1:46 misdirection 1:48-1:50 sleight of hand 2:25 misdirection & sleight of hand _(you can see the palmed cards)_

I love Hannibal! Nothing he did here was particularly difficult (let’s put it this way, there are tons of tricks far more difficult), but his presentation is that of someone who’s toured the world doing magic…and that only comes through performing for thousands of hours

Holy Crap. This is one of the best Mentalists i've ever seen. All you haters don't even understand what he is doing during his act. This is pure psychology mixed with slight of hand mixed with insane amounts of statistics and logarithms etc. I usually can figure out every trick / every secret etc, and I don't want to ruin it, but trust me, this trick is all based on intelligence and some manipulation and is just astounding. As a fellow magician (semi pro), I know everything he did except the finale. That was amazing., however Hannibal's IQ is off the scale here. That's the trick pretty much
@HannibalSpeaks
@HannibalSpeaks 7 років тому

@kevinducharme3988
@kevinducharme3988 7 років тому
No problem. I think you know that I've figured most of it out, but yeah the finale still haven't (and honestly don't want to. It's like the old saying though, look close because the closer you look, the less you see) until that stupid "Now You See Me" movie made that into a catch phrase. I love the whole number of letters in your name bit too, and how everyone is telling you "Um it doesn't have 7 letters" gee, guess Hannibal is too dumb to know how to spell his own name eh guys? Or maybe there's a reason for it.....................? dumbasses.
@fierymongoose9945
@fierymongoose9945 7 років тому
No, I don't think you have much of it figured out at at all. There is no psychology, no statistics, and no logarithms. If you can learn the alphabet, add, and subtract, then you've got the necessary intelligence. It's all done using card sleights (plus one deck principle) that have been used for over 100 years and any self-respecting magician would know about. The tricks in the finale begin with a routine first published in 1908, and once you know the setup for that, the rest becomes trivial. There are at least a dozen books that describe slightly different ways of doing the last 3 tricks.

If you have it all figured out, why hasnt someone made this same comment about you and how you do it? You have no clue, you're just a troll lol. You sound jealous as hell. All I saw was dedication and talent, dont try to take that away from this man just because you want to act like you know everything. Do something with your life aside trying to discredit other peoples life achievements.

at the first trick, in another performance the spectator also took a "3"...so i think he changes the number of cards after the first counting, before giving them back to the guys. and then he somehow makes the spectator choose a "3" =) but he does a really great job, because you can't see anything. love his funny shows =)

im a big fan hannibal. but it seems like your banter with a willing and cooperative volunteer is the kind of report youd have to establish with a heckler. slightly demeaning, yet polite. when used on a heckler, it gives you credibility and shows experience to the other spectators, but when the volunteer is cooperating with the entire trick and is still met with that sort of 'attitude' for lack of a better word, that simply just makes for an uncomfortable experience. you obviously are doing something right, i was just making an observation.
