Is there any good reason that legacy auto would seek to license FSD prior to it being fully operational and approved? Why would they do that and spend money for nothing?

FSD and Robotaxi in terms or revenue and profits makes the car business look like almost $0. It's that massive an opportunity.

If I remember correctly, Boston Dynamics is not partnered with Hyundai, Hyundai owns them since mid-2021.

Robotaxi is the same car as the 25k next gen car!!! Balls to the wall for robotaxi means the 25k car is coming ASAP!!! Supposed to be same architecture, made on same lines!!! They need a lot of the smaller platform out there gathering data in order to train the actual robotaxi which will still take a couple of years to be legal in a large enough area to be the only thing they make...

Robotaxi cannot work in less modern countries... roads suck, law enforcement weak, traffic conditions warrant crazy moves often illegal-ish. How will a car handle these issues with either no flexibility or enough flexibility and constant exposure to accidents lawsuits and tickets?

$TSLA would have been more than $500 by now if Elon had done some of the obvious things that investors expected to boost the business after 2021: 1. Introduce a regular looking pickup truck based on Model Y platform instead of Cybertruck 2. Introduce Tesla App Store and suites of API and get a cut of selling car softwares over the air, just like what Apple did. 3. Just introduce different paint pallets for model 3/y each year to boost demand instead of repeated price cuts to cut margins. 4. Advertise the benefits of EV in terms of safety and savings in gasoline and maintenance costs.
