In this tutorial I go through how to install a cheap (£14 / $15) WiFi control module for operating your electric gates or electric garage door. This module connects to Google Home or Alexa so routines can be set to open and close your gates via voice or within the App. This small module is powered by either your electric garage door control board (7 - 32v) or from a 5v USB on a standard plug. It then creates a circuit on the relevant connection on your electric gate / door controller which opens and closes your gates, which is great and is especially useful for older electric gates and older garage doors that you are trying to make smart and App controlled.
ONLY ATTEMPT THE GATE CIRCUIT BOARD CONNECTION IF YOU ARE CONFIDENT AND QUALIFIED FOR WORKING ON ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT - THE GARGE DOOR OPERATION CAN BE SET BY CONNECTIONS THAT ARE ALREADY EXPOSED AND POWERING YOUR MODULE VIA 5V USB
