It fascinates me how similar wood working and shoe making are. Chisels, knives, hammers, nails, stain, sanding, etc. Many same techniques such as making oversized pieces just to trim down perfectly. Glueing layers together to form the perfect shape. Then applying the perfect finish. Pure art, sir. Beautiful.

In the seventies he was called by a great Italian designer to teach his workers how to make leather and handmade shoes.
