Making permanent crystal slides | Crystallizing different chemical substances

3 місяці томуI will make several slides with crystals and then protect them using a cover glass mounted with UV nail polish. This is something that I have not tried before, and together we will explore how well this works.

What ive tried to do to grow crystals is to dissolve substance in small amount of water in the test tube, and then put this liquid on top of glass. Then it takes 5-10 minutes to see growing crystals. I have two video on my channel - it took about 20 minutes to record a video. Btw - Thank you for the hint with liquid soap, great idea.

Hi I have a suggestion for drying & crystalizing the specimen, maybe suspend the slide on a wire mesh over a soldering iron if doing individual slide specimens. Or suspend slides over a old style light bulb, you could make a slide drying aperaters with an old shoe box to mount the bulb & wire mesh shelf or shelves.

Instead of a coffe cup warmer, you can also use the hotbed of an FDM 3D printer. This will also have a good temperature control.

You should try dissolving them and then let them recrystalize over or under the center of a very strong magnet

Sulfer should be dissolved in CS2 Carbondisulfid

remove first the air-bubbels withf Ethanol and better use a embedding media which ist mor hydrophylic like acrylat
