Awesome job on the raft! Those batteries are impressive, the real time monitoring is now a must have. Glad to to see the electric surfboard is still operational.

Here's an idea: install a big steering servo on the shaft of the motor. Then you could make the whole raft RC (goes with the channel name). But once that's done, install an Pixhawk with Arduboat and you can have the raft run waypoint missions around the lake while you party. Or just do station holding to account for the fact that you lost your anchor again. Or program the boat to follow the surfboard (it wouldn't be able to keep up, but it would at least be closer when you were done).

Simon those brackets you put on to remove the brace are called knee joints. You should have knee joints on each column in 2 directions so you don't end up with a folding top floor.

One word.... Hammocks. They are super relaxing, lightweight, and don't take up valuable floor space like a cot or mattress.

It needs bug screens for a Florida room effect. And a illuminated eltric ceiling fan to move the air around. Maybe some heavy-duty fishing chairs with cup holders. Other wise nice house boat.

Great build! That looks like a lot of fun. As for bracing and not blocking your view, have you thought about using steel cables instead of wood? It would give you much the strength without the bulk. Just an idea.

Putting a solid wall on the frame of the second floor is what the construction industry calls a “sheer wall”. Here in California they are required by the earthquake building code. Maybe add 2 more diagonal planks on the sides bc you’ve only got one axis stabilized with those 2 on the back posts.

safety over anything. Add support in both directions on all 4 posts at the top. you need to support it where the load is so supporting it at the bottom does nothing. I thing you would be quite sad if that thing went sideways and crushed your friends below. Other than that, great build :) guessing you going to have some great times on that thing with friends and family

Great project; TV was brilliant. Pieces of wire (X-shape) can give structural integrity to the second floor without ruining views. Underwater lighting would be cool; and you would recharge your batteries in a seven-hour day with 3 double-sided solar panels. Build a light-weight aluminum or carbon-fibre "shelf" and set the panels side-by-side parallel with the water (or turn it to become a turnable "sail" if you wish - with more engineering). If you lay solar panels into an L-channel frame with removable fasteners then you can remove the panels in winter so they will last longer.

Now I want to build one of these but supersize it to the point it holds an actual wood fireplace/fire pit on the top deck. Personally I would like to make it electric too but if it will be going on a much larger body of water it may have to be gasoline powered or at least have a gasoline generator. Awesome! The first thing I would do is add a water-tight roof under the platform and roll-down mesh sides to keep the bugs out.

Thick plastic walls used on open verandahs on bottom level that roll up would keep U dry and still see out. Add a few hammocks and U have a home. Add a portable toilet and a toilet pop up tent. Add a light but strong chain on your rock then U r set Would love to see any updates Great job
