The Academy Museum offered an exclusive screening to its members-Spike Lee’s seminal film Malcolm X (USA, 1992), in a rare 70mm print! The screening was followed by a discussion with Spike and the film’s Oscar-winning star, Denzel Washington (Glory, Training Day).
Based on The Autobiography of Malcolm X, Lee’s biographical drama follows the legendary revolutionary figure through key periods in his life up to his assassination in 1965. Washington was nominated for an Oscar for his performance in the lead role.
