And since they kept denying her a paternity test and he's on the birth certificate I really hope they do the right thing and still allow him to legally be her father. In Georgia. If you sign the birth certificate you are the father. DNA don’t change anything. Had friend pay child support for 18 years on a kid that wasn’t his cause he signed birth certificate. And yes they did a DNA test proving he wasn’t father. Didn’t matter.

The state makes it hard for a man to get his name off a birth certificate because the state don't want to pay her money. If I was him I would sue her for full custody. Because in the eyes of the law he is her father. And little girl don't need to be raised by thst evil woman. I understand he cheated and she's hurt. But to hurt him through your child is a whole new kind of low.

There are thousands of men who pay child support and don't see their kids, by choice, physically unable (jail) or because mom is alienating their rights. She could move far away, get married and have new husband "adopt" child, he could fight to have his name removed or sue for support payments. There are so many ways this can go and this "mom" doesn't appear to be capable of handling this in the best way for her child or civilized. Double edge sword or not, the reality is the custodial parent usually makes most decisions. Unless he has the money and willfulness to keep going to court, its gonna be a battle. Again, I hope it works out but I'm skeptical the child's needs will be put first. BTW, I'm not a lawyer and laws are different depending on the state so this is really all hypothetical. I do have a friend who signed the birth certificate and it wasn't his baby. Obviously, they broke up and she's with the biological father and he moved on.
