Got to be one of the greatest midfields in football history. Perfectly balanced between workrate, skill, aggression and vision, with 3/4 of the players coming up through the Utd youth team. It doesn't get much better than that.

Overrated. Great crosser,great passer,dead ball expert,great stamina and workrate,and thats it. He had a short temper,was one footed only,could not beat opponents by dribbling or base,could only use his right foot. Once defenders blocked him from crossing or passing,he was useless. Ljungberg was a much better player overall,as was giggs,ginola,overmars,and countless others

Strikes miraculous fixed implemented by ... Beckham player is distinct and very different from all those who mentioned .. When you have this wonderful combination of accuracy And timing in your right foot, you do not need the speed and skill to skip opponents as you shorten the time and distance significantly ... Beckham outside the comparisons because he simply has a very rare right foot.

@@davetherave3511 You do realize that passing, crossing, dead ball situations and work rate make up 60-70% of football. He could beat players by dribbling, ask Vosel and Van Bommel. Also when you can cut out the man with a cross or pass you dont need to dribble past him...and I dont remember too many players who managed to block his crosses or passes either.

@@davetherave3511 Beckham was playing modern football 20 years ago. His shielding of the ball in possession to draw opposition and release is akin to Cruyff/ Guardiola technical philosophy. His vision for drilled, vertical passes between lines and of course through-balls for midfielders breaking the final line or a striker making a delayed diagonal run beyond final line is better than Pirlo, perhaps only second to Glenn Hoddle in history. He was so versatile due to positional grasp and supporting movement. The consistency of execution of his final ball in free play is superior to the other players in the team in this video. As Sir Alex said in recent years, there is a reason he was able to play DM for PSG in a CL quarters aged 37: it ain't fluke.

Same. At that time I supported both Man Utd and Arsenal. It is very hard to say which team was better. Arsenal had Anelka Bergkamp, Man Utd Yorke Cole. Midfield Giggs Becks Scholes Keane vs Vieira Petit Ljungberg Overmars, Defense Irwin Stam Johnsen G.Neville vs Winterburn Keown Adams Dixon and GK Schmeichel vs Seaman. I think Arsenal had slightly better forwards, Man Utd better midfield, Arsenal better defenders and Man Utd better GK. I always wanted to see Anelka and Beckham play in the same team :D

But 3 years later Arsenal had a dream team with Pires and Henry in prime. Vieira became the best Defensive midfielder and we had Ashley Cole, Campbell, Toure and Lauren at the back. Fuck we were strong :D

I had a wrong opinion about SAF, he disappointed me after selling Beckham and Ruud to Real Madrid, which were two of my favorite players at that time.
