Wow u didnt even seemed phased by that beautiful sea turtle. That was amazing, great video! Must have been so fun to explore these creatures in their world.

The ability to change colors and texture so drastically is amazing. The closest we can come to that is a suntan and goosebumps.

@toddbronaugh63827 років тому
I wanted to see more of the turtle
@PCBSLC7 років тому
Spoiler alert: The turtle sat there, not moving much
@spacepioneer40707 років тому
Well, true...Perhaps some people are interested in the turtle's patterns, or beauty all together. Sea Turtles live a very long time, and their markings can tell a story. It's not always what they do, but where they've been. Food for thought :)
@PCBSLC7 років тому
I do love sea turtles as well. I saw a few on my dives last week and was very excited! However, they are much more common to find in the wild and they don't need as much time in the spotlight to represent their nature. No disrespect intended.

Great filming! That's hard to do, esp when snorkeling. It's very clever how you staged the camera and wrangled the cuttlefish to it. You did such a great job!
@ProLogic-dr9vv7 років тому
What I observed about the smasher shrimp's eye is when it's actively hunting for food booth eyes will look around independently of each other until a good target is acquired then both eyes will acquire a lock on the target then move in for the kill.
@ranfromtheherd25537 років тому
I know for a fact both contenders are bad asses in their own rite . Mantis for its power punch , and Cuttle fish for its brain power and hypnotizing light show effects . This should be a good one !
@Opuria6 років тому
ranfromthe herd mantis shrimp are highly intelligent too- they recognize individual faces and their fishy neighbors whom they interact with. they're basically aliens.

Great footage. Thank you for posting this. Hans and Lotte Haas traveled the world observing & filming ocean creatures - They encouraged Marine Biologists to go to the habitat to learn, instead of dynamiting coral reef to bring to the lab for reassembly (the very old school method!) They believed it was vital to view creatures in their habitat to gather relevant information about behavior. (sorry, got a bit off topic)

Do you do a lot of diving? I want to go, but know absolutely nothing about it. I've heard Vietnam has some awesome scuba, and is basically the new Thailand since Thailand is so touristy now.
@amywildermann16727 років тому
We do love to dive and have done it a few places, with Indonesia and Sipidan being the best. Don't know about Vietnam. Diving is easy really, just take a course (cheaper in Asia) and you won't regret it. Do it soon, the oceans are changing mighty fast.
@Roosevelts_Mom6 років тому
Thank you SO much for sharing these clips--and your enduring efforts at getting good shots! I've long loved cuttlefish, though sadly, the only time I've seen one 'in the flesh' was in a shallow bucket at a Hong Kong fish market..:-( I'm so jealous of you right now!!!!!!

screw falcon punch, we need mantis shrimp punch
@whateveryouwant47437 років тому
David Dylan a punch so powerful that the mere force tears the water apart, heating it up to the heat of the sun...yeah falcon doesn't even compare xD
@Lord_have_mercy_on_me_a_sinner6 років тому
1. That's is the pistol shrimp that does that, not the mantis shrimp, and that phenomenon only happens for a millisecond and it isn't even a punch just a massive amount of tension being released at once to fire a concussive blast for a small distance 2. Captain falcon does the same thing and his fist also reaches the temperatures of the sun and that is actually a punch
@xxjoebamaxx77824 роки тому
@@whateveryouwant4743 you know that Falcons actually punch? While, diving. At mach 7 speeds. Mantis shrimp punches mostly just destroy shells of other crustaceans, and the sun's surface is only so hot because there is so much of it. Meanwhile falcon punches are enough to dislocate the heads of creatures twice their size, so yeah falcon punch is better and yes, I know this is a joke.

Pretty sure that octopus you found at the end was dying -- Looked like a female who was either still helping some eggs or she was dying after having helped out the eggs. Octopus moms have to manually oxygenate their young so they will hide under places like that to safely do so.
@AdumMoto3 роки тому
Yeah I was thinking the same... She def didn’t look like she was in good shape. And they usually hide their eggs in hard to find places where they take care of them, keep them clean, away from predators, etc. I’m surprised no one else caught that!
